What did you think?

Bruno - It was funnier than Borat, but it had more moments to cringe at also.

Seeing it Monday evening.  I'm excited.

Untraceable

Meh.  Pretty dull, actually.

At the theater, Public Enemies.  I loved it.  But I am a sucker for gangster films and any kind of movie set in the past.

I liked Public Enemies, but didn't love it.

Waltz With Bashir.

A bit too pro-Israel, but rather good. Of course all the Zionists on this forum would hate it.

I thought I'd love it, but I gave up on it about an hour in.  It was much, much darker than I'd imagined.

Saw Persepolis (2007) finally.  Really liked it.

Bruno

You'll get some cheap laughs but it isn't really very good. It's also very short (not that that's a bad thing).

Bruno, and honestly alot of it was really just trashy and there was alot of needless nudity. Most of the amusing parts of the movie were where there wasn't alot of direct in-your-face nudity, and as Eraser said, it was pretty short too.

There were a few hilarious moments, and even more amusing was counting the people walking out of the theater as the movie got progressively more outrageous, but overall I don't have a very high opinion of the movie nor half the people that were stuck in there with me.

And I'll be honest, as I was walking out of the theater, I felt pretty much like a cheap hooker.

Considering the concept, how could you not expect that? If you thought it was too bleak already though it's a good thing you missed the last part, especially the ending.

Reminded me a lot of Liquid Television, and the original Aeon Flux cartoon, which would make it worthwhile even if I didn't care about the history.

I saw Bruno on Friday night. It was pretty underwhelming and too much penis for my tastes. There were some good laughs, but it wasn't anywhere near the masterpiece that Borat was. It was also really short.

I saw Public Enemies tonight. It was pretty good as well, but the camera angles were strange. I felt dizzy during most of the film. The ending was very well done, and Bale put in another good performance as Batman dressed in a different outfit.

I must be the only one who has no real interest in seeing Bruno, probably because I didn't think Borat was all that funny either to be honest. Tom Green pretty much did the same thing but he did it a lot funnier.

Yeah, I had a feeling plenty of people didn't really know what they were in for Tongue

I never even watched Borat.

Catch and Release.

Also saw the latest OSS117 (Rio ne repond plus). It's a French movie which mocks James Bond, French stereotypes, and secret agents. The 'hero' in question is a French secret agent who's a macho, a dumbass/clumsy fool, and almost an anti-semite and racist.

The Hurt Locker.

Wow. That's up there with No Country For Old Men for suspense, and The Wrestler for gritty realism. Same filming style too, which I loved.

Groundhog Day, 1993 comedy with Bill Murray. Classic flick.

Madhouse, 1990 comedy with John Larroquette and Kirstie Alley about house guests multiplying and driving them crazy. Decent comedy.

Wendy and Lucy.

I'll give it a 10/10 for the direction and style and Michelle Williams' performance, and the script and story maybe a 5. Just never dragged me in. Still it's short enough to watch with no real risk.

"8 women"

French musical detective story, filled with incest, lesbianism, jealousy and murder. Pretty weird.

Re-watched A Bridge Too Far last night.

You know, as epic war movies go, it's good but not great.  Still, a mediocre war movie is usually preferable in my home to most of what passes for comedy these days.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Tries far too hard to be a Bond movie, and has obvious day for night shooting, gratuitous greenscreen usage, silly fight scenes, and choppy editing.

Despite all that, it manages to be a very good movie.

Paul Blart, Mall Cop. Pretty stupid, though it did get better closer to the end.

Borat - F'in hilarious. Got it in the 5$ bin at Wal mart.

The Happening - Very enjoyable move. I don't know why so many critics hated it.

Isn't it like four hours or something ridiculous like that? That's another Lynch movie that haven't got around to watching...

Knowing-horribly funny lines at times (not on purpose), some decent (not great) effects, different, if a bit goofy, plot.  2 out 10

I don't know if it counts as a movie or a tv special or whatever, but Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana.
