Re-watched Hawaii last night, with Max Von Sydow.  Average fare, film-wise.  The story though reminds me a lot of what I was like as a young Christian and, hopefully, what I am now becoming with some age.  A pretty fair and accurate treatment of the good and the bad that missionaries have done through the centuries.

Saw Terminator 2: Judgement Day last night, for the first time.

Better than the original.

Donnie Darko. BRTD is right, for once. Soundtrack was kick ass as well.

So you agree with what I said here?

I've realized lately that the plot for Donnie Darko is hardly anything spectacular or original. What makes it so enjoyable is everything else about it, it's told in the best possible way, the 80s setting, the ambiance, the excellent performances from everyone and the chemistry between Jake and Maggie that would be impossible to replicate with a pair that wasn't real life brother and sister.

The Happening.

Seriously one of the worst movies I've ever seen. My brother and I were laughing through the entire thing at how stupid it was, how horrible the acting was, how juvenile the dialogue was and how ridiculous the entire concept was.

It was horrendously bad.  M. Night whatever the  should find another job.  Unbreakable was his last decent movie.  The Village really looked good...set, costumes, lighting, etc.  But the plot had more holes than swiss cheese.  Signs was another one with a good look but nothing of substance to it.  Now, he's not even making movies that look good.  The Happening should never have happened.

I'm not sure if that was the best term. But ultimately the story is the type of thing your average 16-year old could write up as some fantasy/sci-fi thing for an English creative writing assignment. However they couldn't make such an impressive film.

Yes, but I thought it was pretty original IMHO.

That's a bit of an extreme statement. I thought the idea behind the movie was great and the concept was. I think some parts were badly executed.

Four Brothers.

Extremely far-fetched and unbelievable, but still a good time regardless.

Superbad, 2007 comedy. Hilarious.

It Could Happen to You, 1994 romantic film with Nicolas Cage, and Bridget Fonda. Pretty good.

With the addition of those two, I have watched...since May 10th...exactly three months ago...100 full-length feature films.

2 or 3 Things I Know About Her (Godard, 1967)

And I will defend Shyamalan's The Happening until the day I die. It is the perfect B-movie and the best comedy of the decade.

Knowing and Lord of War with Nicolas Cage. What an interesting characher he is, don't you think?  boring dude....but toally bad ass. It's probably the mindset that we need.

Knowing was pretty interesting for such a poorly put together movie (the plot had tons of holes, but the message was clear)- Our situation is never futile and we shall always have a future, be it in the Kingdom of Heaven or on the otherside of galaxy....and it could simply be as simple as starting over or seizing the hour.

Frost/Nixon. Fascinating film as it delves into the psychology of both men. Nixon was particularly fascinating. I felt sorry for him because I realize why he was compelled to do what he did throughout the course of his life.

Heat, 1986 movie with Burt Reynolds as "Nick Escalante", a Vegas bodyguard. Classic 80s tough guy flick.

Hollow Man, 2000 science-fiction thriller with Elisabeth Shue (Yum) and Kevin Bacon. Good movie.

Boogeyman (2005) horrible movie with a horrible ending. At least Emily Deschenal was in it.

Mysterious Skin (2005)

It was a great movie, that i could relate to, because i'm gay, and it had a great story with some funny, scary, and emotional moments. The only problem i had with it was that it was only 100 minutes long.

9/10
