Goodfellas. A while since I've seen it; some parts work a lot better than I remembered.

Street Kings.

Of course Keanu Reeves sucks at acting, and the plot was generic and predictable, but the action was really really good.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

Overall it was one the best films I have seen in a longtime. The cast was superb, with Jack Nicholson as Randle P. McMurphy as the standout. Though I do give honourable mentions to Louise Fletcher who played Nurse Ratched. However, I was slightly disapointed by the duration of the film, particularly towards the end of the film. Miloš Forman should have sped it up.

Der Untergang (Downfall)

The movie responsible for the multiple spoofs of Hitler yelling in his bunker. Anyway, it was a very good movie. An instant favorite.

Anything out you guys recommend as a date film?  The only film out that I have the slightest desire to see is Religulous, and I...well...don't know her religious affiliation, and don't want to risk serious offense.  Plus, Bill Maher is a jackass.

Too obvious: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. That movie seems to be basically made for this type of thing. Also the only movie currently in the top 10 with a "Fresh" on RT.

Why were you going to walk out? I've never been so disgusted with a movie to just walk out - if I paid for it, I'll sit through to the end. Plus you lose credibility telling your friends how awful a film was if you didn't even sit through the whole thing.

Nah, I'd doubt I'd walk out, that was just hyperbole on my part. But I did groan a few times over the cheesy scenes, especially that camera scene.

Lindsay Anderson If....

Fantastic, we need more old-timey British "public school" (that's a private school for most here) movies.

I Am Legend

Much better than I expected.  I like Will Smith and I like post appopolytical works, I don't know why I wasn't expecting much.  It was well done.  My only problem was when one of the monsters managed to knock his large SUV over by running into it really hard.  They did a good job with physics other than that one scene, but crap like that always takes me out of the movie.  Like when somebody goes flying when shot, I hate that crap.

Hot Fuzz

It gets better everytime I watch it.  Great movie and quickly becoming one of my favorites.  Much better than Shaun of the Dead (and I really liked that).  I suppose I need to check out Spaced.

I know the town where they filmed that very well. The film is disturbingly accurate in so many ways.

I got tickets to an advanced Milk screening next Thursday. Very excited about that.

I watched "Totally Baked: A Pot-U-Mentary" on Hulu.com this weekend because I was bored. It was pretty awful and I already knew everything they said.

Al, for the greater good is it disturbingly accurate on so many levels?

Well, I'm not aware of the people that run Wells (and places like Wells) going around killing people* but some of the other elements of that, yeah... very much so. The children in the the pub, for instance. That's so true that it's painful. And the mafia-style running of civic bodies and so on, although I don't think it tends to be so formal.

*not these days anyway. It's possible that things like that used to happen, actually, but on a very small scale.

Once Upon A Time In America

I've been meaning to see it for years but never got around to. Saw a DVD of it the other day, thought "why not". Watched it. Loved it, and in several different ways.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Wow....one of the best horror films I've ever seen...a hell of a lot better than any of the cheesy sh**t they make these days.
