Larceny, Incorporated with Edward G. Robinson, Anthony Quinn, Jane Wyman and a very early (minor) role for Jackie Gleason.  What fun!

Old movies are such a blast.

The Doom Generation.

That was, uh, different. I think Eraserhead would be a big fan.

It looks interesting. I'll check it out soon.

The Great Buck Howard

John Malkovich was awesome, but the movie was pretty mediocre otherwise.

I just finished watching Milk.

It was good but, honestly, it's probably a bit overrated.

You watched a liberal movie?

Why are you such an idiot? Have you not realized that my entertainment interests aren't dictated by my political preferences (like most normal people)? My favorite musical artist is Stevie Wonder, for Christ's sake.

Anyway, yes, I watched a liberal movie. I've also voluntarily watched a movie by my least favorite person in politics - Al Gore - several times.

Just seems odd, since I can't think of any movies or music of the opposite ideology I like. Then again considering the political slant of Hollywood, the indie movie scene and the indie/emo/punk/hardcore scene that's not hard for me.

Worse than Bob Casey, Jr.?

That explains a lot.

I've consistently said that Albert Gore, Jr. is my least favorite person in politics.

Were they actually conservative during the 60s and 70s or are they just a few baby-boomer sellouts?

Rush, Ted Nugent, Ramones, ...yeah, it's a short list (and you could make good arguments against two of them)...there are others though.

Battle Royal II-Very good (if a bit cheesy).  The Japanese punk over the ending credits kicked ass too.

Ah yes...I'm seeing a correlation between the decline of rock in the 70s and the political views of its artists.

^^^^^ (For the win)

I've seen four movies over the past two days: The Damned United, Il Divo, Metropolis (not the Fritz Lang film, but an Anime equivalent) and Doubt. I recommend all four; though probably some knowledge of 20th Century Italian politics is a must before seeing Il Divo; that and a tolerance of surrealist unclear political references and gnomic remarks made by politicans (it's a film about the life of Anderotti). It is still probably good; but don't ask me what exactly was going on all the time.

becasue 1% of album sales came from conservative artists, that's why rock declined?

They were conservative in the 60s, only in the economic sense though really.

Gran Torino

I liked it, too (despite some flaws).

The preview was certainly promising.
