I enjoyed it.

Believe it or not, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.  A friend of mine was having a movie night and I had no say in the movie selection.

Not as bad as I'd anticipated.  All right, I'll say it: I liked it.

I just killed my rep, didn't I?

It's based on Pride and Prejudice, isn't it? That's a very Mikado-esque thing, I'd think.

Right now, I'm watched a badly overdubbed Italian film on the life of St. Peter.

But the last thing I saw in a theatre was "Across the Universe."

The original is a big joke. The "acting" is downright laughable, the soundtrack is hilariously innapropiate, and the production values are so week it seems more silly than brutal. I'll probably see that remake sometime since it looks like it was actually done well.
Yep.  I just watched the original a month ago or so...twice actually as I ran the commentary track after I watched it.  There is tons of bad.  Acting, editing, cinemetography.  Still, a "must see" if you're into the genre.

A couple of John Waters classics;Women Trouble and Desperate Living.  Both brutally bad without the over the top disgustingness of Pink Flamingos.  I don't know why I do this to myself.

Gonzo, a Hunter S. Thompson documentary.  Very good with lots of interviews and what not.

Observe and Report

Surprisingly dark. Maybe Rogen's best movie. My only major issue with it is that they went with a Hollywood ending which contained massive plot holes.

I take it you haven't heard about the Taxi Driver homage theory.

No.

(Minor spoilers)

Did that scene where he has that showdown in the mall with the actual cops remind anyone of the scene with Rorschach and the cops in Watchmen?

Last in theatres was Milk. I was surprised by how good it was. Sean Penn was excellent and pretty much carried the film. The rest of it was more ok than anything else, imo.

Doubt, my parents forced me to watch it with them and it was surprisingly good.

Have you seen the original (or its prequel, Night of the Living Dead)? Two of my favorite films.

Both -- yeah, they were great.  The original Dawn and Night were excellent.  I like the remake of Dawn but not the remake of Night.

I think zombies need to form a union!

Crank 2

it was alright; I enjoyed the first one a lot more. This one was a little too Family Guy-esque with the randomness

State of Play.

This is probably my favorite of 2009 so far. The plot was full of twists but always kept you engaged and itself interesting, never a dull moment, the cast rocked, well OK some of Affleck's more "serious" moments could've used some work but whatever, Crowe absolutely owned. This is one of the most engaging and effective movies in a long time that American studios usually won't bother with anymore, this being a remake of a British miniseries.
