Good choice, Harry!  He may be a ultraliberal Democrat's worst nightmare on social issues, but this guy is what we need in the South, a populist-leaning social conservative.  Taylor is pro-life, pro-gun, opposes affirmative action, supports the death penalty, and supports heavy restrictions on illegal immigration.  Yet he is also a staunch critic of the Bush Administration's fiscal policy, voting against the tax cuts and the 2003 prescription drug plan.

Flyers and the other social liberals may puke again at reading this, but I guarantee that if we had more Gene Taylor's in the party, we could be very competitive in the South.  Preston will be first to attest to the need for more Southern conservative populist Democrats like Taylor, as this variety of Democrat controls much of Arkansas.  It just goes to show you how big a factor economics can be in elections if we choose to downplay social issues.

We need Gene Taylor and Tim Holden Dems in populist-conservative districts.  We don't need them in more liberal districts.  I would have puked if a conservative Dem like Mike McGeehan was my Congressman.  I have to admit that even though I maybe no fan of them, I would gladly support them considering where they're running.  Bob Casey this is not the case.  We do not need a populist to win PA in fact I'm deathly afraid of low liberal turnout, which is very well possible.

Tom Delay.

...actually, I only really know of him, Culberson, and Jackson Lee.

1 and 3 I really do not like; so I suppose Culberson.

Wow! I'm surprised I said Tanner over my rep, Jim Cooper. But now it's Steve Cohen who replaced HF Jr.

Cohen is awesome. Glad he was elected.

My favorite is Rush Holt.

Stated Ackerman and Nadler further back in the thread.  Also really starting to become a bigger fan of Tim Bishop.

My own Congressperson is probably my favorite.  Normally I would be more inclined to support a Democrat but Deborah Pryce is my kind of Republican.  Least favorite-Jean Schmidt.  Although I have to give her props for the hilarious ads she ran against "Crazy Victoria Wulsin."  There were really some very funny ads going around Ohio last year.  It almost made the whole thing bearable.

Rush Holt. If Stender had won, she probably would be my favorite. I also like Rothman (my own), and Frelinghuysen among the Republicans.

haha. He's my least favorite Democratic congressman in the state, actually (Hooley isn't great either).

Senator Wyden is also too right-leaning on economics for me, but I can forgive him because of his good votes (against the Iraq war from the beginning, one of ten Senators to oppose reauthorization of the PATRIOT Act)... also, he's one of only six US Senators to support gay marriage. Not civil unions- marriage.
