Of those not so great options, I would probably take Guliani - despite his lack of experience. I use to really like Warner, but in recent times he is coming off a lot like Hillary Clinton - someone that I would probably never vote for.

Folks, it is about time that you gave Al a break. I don't think he could make any more abundantly clear that he has no intrest in running for or holding an office - EVER AGAIN. I feel as though this is a lot of the Dems problem, they cling to the past too often. You can't make one comment about 2000 without them yelling "fix" at the top of their lungs. (I like how they just let the Washington governor's race slide). I've compiled a list of people that will NEVER be on a democratic ticket after 2004.

Obviously Warner is the best candidate and gets my vote, but if it were totally up to me I'd pick Kerry.

Huh  He would never be on it anyway! Tongue

But Kerry will probably run again, though fail horribly. Besides that I agree with your list.

Mitt Romney, for Peace, Prosperity, and Progress.

Mark Warner is highly overrated and his current prominence in the Presidential sweepstakes is largely a media creation.

I am personally predicting a Giuliani/Romney vs Bayh/Clark in 2008. Rudy will get my vote.

PS - I made that Giuliani button in my signature myself. =D

There was talk of McCain being a Dem VP. When it fizzled away the draft McCain effort stuck around in the Democratic Party. They just don't know when to quit. Kerry will run and lose the primary with 3rd place behind Warner and Clinton. Possible 4th if Feingold decideds to run.

They did a bit on him this morning on Good Morning America. The reporter said she asked him if he were running. He laughed and didn't reply. Usually for a politician, only an "absolutely not" is abundantly clear.

I took the eight guys I think are most likely to run and win nominations.  Wingnuts (Brownback, Boxer, Sharpton) aren't included and neither are "fantasy" candidates who aren't going to run (Condie, Jeb, Obama).  I'm going to pit the top guy in each party against each other.

Vote away!

Of course now, 10 months later, Obama seems realistic, while George Allen is now a fantasy candidate.
