Well given his description of his personal life, I expect that he lives in one or at least something very similar to one.

What is a McMansion exactly?

Well, I suppose you can be a 'phoney' 'populist'.

What does Josh22 have to do with this?

this is damn stupid, brtd.

im still not exactly sure what a 'mcmansion' is.  is it a house with a lawn and drive way?

if that is the case, yes that is far superior to living in a dumpy apartment pissing away money on hyper-inflated rent and living at the mercy of a crooked landlord.

since when did owning a house become 'uncool'?

kids today.  i just dont get them

No, it's one of those boxy oversized montrosities you see in massive and ugly sprawling subdivisions. I got friends who live in houses, but none who live in a McMansion. There are no parties in the ugly part of Mankato with the McMansions, and I doubt any students live there, except some who grew up in Mankato and still live with their parents. Not only are McMansions completedly contradictory to liberal culture, they are horribly bad for the environment.

I'm only 6 years younger than you btw.

Ditto. I fail to see what type of house one prefers has to do with political preferences.

Yes, I hate it but I must admit I do often live in a non-urban house, BRTD.  I try to get a summer sublet every year down in the walkable/university part of the City, but I end up living out at the farmhouse a lot.  It isn't a McMansion though, just a rather ordinary sized house with a lot of decks on it.  The parents and brother live in big houses, but both were built in several stages from the 1930's through the present, so they're not really McMansions, though they are located in the boring, useless Ex-urbs.

Anyway, I'm looking for a sublet right now on Craigslist.

Don't forget Marin County. Mill Valley, CA has the most expensive houses in the US, and went over 81% for Kerry.

Okay has anyone actually defined McMansion yet? I still have no idea what you mean by the term? Are you talking about the prefab/semi-custom homes, which I called barracks homes when I lived in Chicago, where they all look alike and are in very large communities or are you talking about large single-family custom homes on large lots in usually smaller communities?

The Sears houses were much more creative then the garbage they build now.
