Haven't seen any yet, but I am looking.  But does it really matter.  Only way it makes News is if Dean loses and that is unlikely.

Any results on today's DC primary?

2 words again:  Publicity Stunt

It was all about statehood, which won't happen anytime soon.

DC would just give Dems 2 senators and a rep.  GOP won't let that happen, plus founders wanted an area that didn't belong to any state, let alone become one itself.

I would be willing to let DC have voting representation on matters that dealt with DC's budget, but not national policy.  compromise of sorts.

As I understand it all boundary disputes have original jurisdiction at the US SCT.

What if the Boundary States competed to annex DC?
Would that be legal or at all possible?

Winning Gov was a huge step.  PLus Gov Ehlrich is still popular and a GOP hero in a way, beating a Kennedy to boot!  Long way fromt he frontier in MD yet, but a good first start and shows GOP is competitive in tough dem places too.

A possible opening for Ehrlich along the lines of a Senate seat int he future if Sarbanes retires int he future or mikulski in 6 years as she wins this time easily.

One would think the Republicans would be pushing to return DC to MD, and rescind the 3EV for DC, since they could claim credit for giving a majority black city Taxation with Representation, and eliminate 2 Democratic EV!
I guess the GOP hopes to someday revitalize the GOP in MD (They did win the guv race last year!)
It's pretty far down the list though Wink

I like it how it is, I guess.  RAther do it this way than give votes to dems in VA and MD.

M--check out the fantasy elections thread and the important registration forum for the vote, thanks! Smiley

One possible solution wouldbe to give the inhabited parts of DC, including Georgetown, back to Maryland, and keeping a small federal district along the Potomac where almost no one lives permanently.
