We don't really have any DINOs in the Senate.

Lieberman is close, but only because of his blind support for Bush's war policies and the constant Republican ass-kissing. He's pretty good on most other issues.

Has it ever occured to you that these people aren't there to support a party agenda, and that their primary purpose is to look after the best interests of their states and their constituencies?  Maybe that doesn't line up perfectly with the far-left's idea of what the "Democratic" agenda should be.

I would say the same for Republicans who trash McCain for not being "Republican" enough.  Screw that.  He's Arizonan enough and American enough to be a U.S. Senator -- to hell with any other qualifications any partisans may hold him to.

Admittedly, too many elected officials forget what they're there for far too often, but all the "DINO" and "RINO" crap about the ones who don't vote a party line is ridiculous.

I have a great idea, let's kick everyone in the Senate who we feel is a DINO out of the party and make them join the Republican Party.  That'll show them.

What difference would this make policy wise?

The Democratic Party would become a third party.

Do you realize that the national Journal  rating is not based off a conservative or liberal voting record??  Its based how the Senator compares to the rest of those in the Senate..  So a rating of for example 74%, does not mean that the Senator votes Democratic or liberal 74% of the time, it means that the particular Senator ismore liberal than 74% of the Senate.

Was that before or after the world was created in seven days?

It was before God screwed up with Liberals. -_-  Cheesy

NOTA.  If Zell Miller was an option, he's the one I would pick, but since all these people supported our candidate in 2004, and seem to believe in Democratic ideals, then none of them are DINOs, and it's a shame that any of you consider any of them in that regard.

Good point Smiley

So what? Half the Senate Democrats don't get liberal ratings over 80%. I hardly think it's reason to vilify them

Weren't these ratings given out on a percent basis, by comparing Senator's voting records and ranking them accordingly? If that's the case, it would be almost impossible for every Democrat to have a voting record over 80.

So unless a Democrat is a fully fledged liberal, he's a DINO Roll Eyes

Casey stands a very good chance of defeating Santorum in Pennsylvania. I wish him success in doing so

"DINO's" and "RINO's" (as well as the dreaded "LINO") are only terms used by people who are too narrow-minded.  Cheesy
