This just proves how slow the gears of Justice move with the UN.

Justice was cheated when that kangoroo court was created.

Are the likes of Milosevic worthy of anything other than a kangaroo court? I think not

Personally, he needed swift justice of the Ceauscescu variety

No. They're not in the same league at all.
Not that Ceausescu deserved to be, well basically lynched - no more than any other human being, ever.
Dying in prison while awaiting a verdict - that's one of the saddest endings to a life that I can imagine, actually...

Eh, he still got what he deserved anyway, life in prison. Bye bye bastard, say hello to Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Idi Amin on your way in.

Amen to that.

Personally I'm rather happy he's dead because at least now they wont have to keep that sham of a trial going. Well he'll get his payment.

"Natural Causes" sounds a bit suspicious. Especially if the man was locked up in jail.

The article says that "Mr Milosevic suffered from high blood pressure and a heart condition."  It seems to me that people can certainly have heart attacks while in jail.

Any one would think you were defending Milosevic? Kangaroo courts .... Approve of ethnic cleansing do we?

I highly doubt that he was 'poisoned' but what I will say is , if he was, I hope it slowly ate away at him

Eh, I was joking with that line, and I do think he should have been tried, but by the Bosnian and Croation people he commited crimes against, not by some "ad-hoc" court, which of course is totally ex posto facto, not to mention an incredible act of arrogance on teh part of the Un and assorted goons.

I get your drift now Smiley. There were certainly grounds for him to be tried in Bosnia-Herzegovina but I can understand, for security reasons as much as anything else, why he was tried under international jurisdiction at The Hague

Still, he's dead now

Yes, I guess it would just make sense to have airlifted a mob of townsfolk into the Hague to chase after him with pitchforks and torches and lynch him, good ol' speedy whoop-ass style justice!

Took too long for him to die by natural causes or otherwise.

Apparently Milosevic took medicines he wasn't prescribed, in order to render the medicines he was given against high blood pressure ineffective.

He may have been doing this to force a transfer out of prison and into a first-rate hospital (preferably one in Moscow - he'd asked to go there before, which was declined because the court feared Russia might grant him asylum). He may also have been doing this in order to commit suicide.

FFS Dave I thought you were more restrained than that, sounds like primitive animal justice, do you throw bricks at pediatricians' offices? The very reason people like Ceausescu are evil is because they take peoples lives, once someone does something its allright to do the same thing to them? Should we have rapists raped?

I'm very restrained. I just don't suffer their sort. No, I don't think rapists should be raped but I do think that mass murderers on a genocidal level in the case of Milosevic should not be spared capital punishment. By and large I oppose the death penalty, but punishment has to fit the crime. Many murderers and rapists are too leniantly sentenced
