This amendment has enough votes to pass. Senators now have 24 hours to change their votes.

In the first place, the Fair Minimum Wage Bill would propose that the minimum wage be set at $7.40 for those 18 or over and $5.75 for those 15-17. If that's excessive than I'm Margaret Thatcher

It's not excessive, but it is dumb - you'll only end up hurting those 18 and over. If I was a business owner why would I hire someone 18 or over if I could hire a 15-17 year old on the cheap? You'll be seeing that group having an increase and the ones who really need jobs not getting them.
