One of the most miserable countries on the planet. It's still in its "transitional" phase since the ruling party, the People's Front for Democracy and Justice ("Democracy" and "Justice", how Orwellian) basically just won't hold elections so they can hang onto the government as a one party state forever. Reporters Without Borders ranked it the second worst country in the world for press freedom, only North Korea below it. Basically every remotely independent media outlet has been shut down. Not too long ago the country even banned all churches except Catholic and Orthodox ones, forced all other churches to close and imprisoned the leaders. A nightmarish hellhole gettng even worse and worse.
