I am just curious why you vetoed this Ebowed when you said you would support Puerto Rico's right to vote for statehood before?

Sure.  I still support Puerto Rican statehood IRL, but I came to the conclusion that it was unnecessary to grant it statehood in Atlasia for practical reasons.  I think the current set-up of fifty states, ten states per region is perfectly suitable for Atlasian purposes and there is no need to extend any sort of bureaucracy to Atlasian territories when a.) nobody lives there and b.) it creates an imbalance in the regions.

And of course I will have a veto override on this. I hereby open up the vote on the override of of Ebowed',s veto. Please vote Aye, Nay or Abstain.

Objection.

The Rules of this Body quite clearly provide that a chance to debate the veto orverride be available before a vote will be held on it.

I wish to invoke this right under the Senate Rules.

Let's just say I'll be voting to override the President's veto. Unless, the Senate rejects the veto, the unacceptable situation in Puerto Rico is highly unlikely to be resolved once and for all

I called for statehood on the night I was gunned down and that stands. There will be no selling out of my convictions on this one

There are enough votes to override this veto. Senators have 24 hours to change their votes.

Even though I have an overriding hatred for this type of Harry-like garbage, the conduct of the vote was made through coin-flips by me to determine the vote.  As you can tell, it was close (unlike the 95 heads-5 tails is statistically significant discussion).  No pro or anti-Statehood bias was in play.

Congrats.  May you imperialist nutters continue to try and take over the world, if you wish.  Tongue
