Citizens of the Mideastern region:
Please vote on the following four "constitutional provisions" for our region.  I will keep the voting open until noon on Thursday.  Whicheven option receives the most votes on each of these questions will become the law of the region.

1.) When should we hold next Governor's election?
Choices:
- August, the same time as the Senate mid-terms
- September, b/w the mid-terms and Presidential election, as it was last time around
- Other: name a month
The Governor's terms following this election will be four months, unless I hear objections.
So if we choose September, subsequent elections will be January and May, etc.

2.) Should we use preferential voting for regional elections?
Yes or no; hopefully everyone knows what this is by now.

3.) Should we elect a Lt. Governor?
Yes or no.  If yes, indicate whether or not they should run as a ticket with the Governor, or in an independent election.

4.) Should we consider changing the name of the region?
If yes wins, I will solicit recommendations, which we will vote on; if none of the recommendations beats "Mideastern Region,"  we'll keep the name as is.

Thanks for your input!  Remember, Mideastern region residents only.

1) July or August. Preferrably July, for some election action, oh yeah.

2) nope, no pref voting for regional stuff.

3) no, not necessary

4) I think what we've got is the most accurate name for the region, heh.

Yes, I noticed the timing, so you're OK.  Did you move?

Voting is now closed.

The results:

1.) Election Date
August - 2
September - 4

2.) Preferential Voting
Yes - 5
No - 1

3.) Lt. Governors
Yes - 2
No - 4

4.) Name Change
Yes - 4
No - 2

The next governor's election will be in September, with elections following in January and May.  These elections, and any other incidental regional elections, will use preferential voting.  We will not be electing any other regional officers.

I will soon start a thread soliciting name change suggestions.
