Definitely Jesus wouldn't vote for Republicans. I think that he would reject all modern political ideologies, but I can see him more social democrat than republican on economy issues at least.

True. so I geuss he will vote progressive  Smiley

Bush/Cheney of course, but then again I'd vote for them even if they joined one another in gay marriage.
I get the feeling that certain people would vote for Bush even if the challenger was Abraham Lincoln or Jesus Christ.

We wouldnt have to worry about Jesus running AGAINST George Bush
Oh ... I don't know about that.  Do you think Jesus supports capital punishment?  Or would he say "he who is without sin cast the first stone"?  Remember, Bush was Gov Death in TX.

Nope, jesus votes republican.

LOL ... actually Jesus would probably not be allowed to enter the US right now.

Think about it .... he's a convicted criminal from the Middle East .... he was accused (falsely) of trying to start a revolution in occupied Israel.  No way is he getting past the Dept of Homeland Security.

What amuses me though is the idea if Jesus were to run for election against Bush, Karl Rove would have a field day.  We would see daily Drudge reports stating "DRUDGE BREAKS STORY OF JESUS AFFAIR WITH HOOKER".  Drudge's evidence would be an account told by Jesus-insider, Judas.  Rove would attack Jesus for being soft on crime (he opposes capital punishment).  There would be implications that Jesus is gay (he hangs with these Apostles).  And then of course there would be the argument that Jesus is soft on defense.

2) He's against a tax cut

Most of my views are shaped just to oppose the religious right.

If Kerry doesn't beat Bush I will worry about the future of the Democratic Party, because our party has just become anti-Republican, and if that loses in 2004 it will take a while to start back up. I wish the democratic party wasn't so moderate on issues like gun control. I don't care really about Health Care, and that is our party's platform. We should adopt fiscal responsibility as our  new  philosophy, to secure the moderate republicans of the Northeast and the West.

As an erstwhile Democrat who wound up being pretty conservative (for a Democrat), I find it pitiful when a liberal Democrat laments the poor health of the party.

Wasn't it only 12 years ago when the party DID adopt fiscal responsibility, and co-opted almost every successful republican doctrine while standing strong for civil rights and tolerance? Such a shame that it's chief proponent didn't understand the meaning of "it's the right thing to do".

The winning formula is not very far out of reach. Start with the DLC and move right from there.

Every Democrat says bad things about Bush. I've heard everything: He's the anti-christ! Jesus... SORRY.

Why not start with the GOP and not move at all... Wink
