Holy crap! Australia beat Canada this morning!

An interesting note. The Australian skip is originally from Ottawa, and the Aussie team fequently practices here. The Canadian skip also is from the area, and is a member of my club. The Australian coach is also a member of my club. Also, the Finnish skip, Markku Uusipaavalniemi (who may not play because of an injury) also curled out of my club a few years ago

Sweden's ladies are the best in the world, but on the Men's side we haven't been up to our usual standard lately.

It is a cool sport, I hope team Carlsen can do ebtter than team Lindholm did towards the end.

I vaguely know of the skip of the Australian team (i've been doing some letter stuffing and that name stuck in my head).

Yes, he is back He was out with a wrist injury, but he is back, and now Finland is winning again.

Each team has two games left which they will play this Thursday and then the top 4 make the playoffs.

The top 4 have clinched at least a spot in a tie-breaker. Sweden can get into a tie-breaker with a win.

Sorry Hugh, Oz is out. Not a bad showing though, especially beating both Canada and the US!

What's horrible was the announcers were horribly biased in favour of the US. A buddy of mine sent them an email cursing them and they actually commented on the email on the audiocast. (including giving his name).

Playoffs begin Friday.
Canada plays Scotland and USA plays Norway. The loser of Canada/Scotland plays the winner of USA/Norway in the semi-final. The winner of Canada/Scotland plays the winner of the semi-final in the final on Sunday.

Canada beats Scotland today and USA loses to Norway. Scotland and Norway are in the semis and Canada plays the winner in the final.
