...of that book. Or an excerpt. Whatever. I own a book, printed in the mid-70s, with several texts by US historians, mostly abridged versions of books of theirs. One is an abridged version of The Emerging Republican Majority, and believe you me it's one of the less insightful, and one of the least scholarly written articles in that book. THough it has its merits, it suffers from the fact that the author clearly couldn't decide whether he was writing a scientific text or a pep rally speech.

There's a copy at abebooks.com that costs only $38.50. It is the cheapest price out there that I can find. Buy it while you still can. I would recommend against abebooks.com; they have a bad history. You have any better suggestions? A major metropolitan library? He wants to buy it, not just borrow it. Well, then I'm afraid he'll have to either risk dealing with his credit card company and possibly not getting the book or shell out the full cost... Alternatively, unless he plans on reading it a whole hell of a lot, he can just read a library copy, which is why I suggested that...
