I mean wrt the modern working political definitions of liberal, illic est leftist by authoritarian.  The technical definintion of Liberal is rightist by libertarian or pro-personal liberty; as the Consitution says, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."  Christian "Conservatives" push a leftist (unconstitutional government interference) agenda.

How did a right-wing nut like Mitt Romney ever get elected governor in Massachusetts, of all places?

Not sure who Rommey would appoint, bjut if its a Republican you could bet your life its going to be a Moderate/Liberal Republicaan.  If he doesn't want to get re-elected in 06 appointing a Conservative Repbulican is the way to go about it, but if he wants to be re-elected it would be a death senence.

Just because you are so far to the left you can't tell the difference doesn't mean the rest of us can't.  Repubicans in the northeast are mostly moderate, and a moderate Republican can win state elections up here.

Do you consider yourself a moderate?

Of course not.

Why, the rightists would just love that if I let my guard down.

Does anyone know Romney's positions on the issues other than being against gay marriage?
