This test is horrible.  Below are my comments about each question:

#1: Formulated as if there's nothing in between the Bush Doctrine and refusing to sending troops to war at all.  Horrible question.
#2: One of the worst questions in the whole test.  Who in their right mind would openly admit to supporting "decreasing civil liberties"?  Horrible question, and biased to boot.
#3: Another false dichotomy.  There is a lot in between having no timeline whatsoever and pulling troops out right this minute.  Horrible question.
#4: Not as bad as the above, although apparently you're not allowed to think it should be kept the way it is.  Mediocre question.
#5: Finally, a question that isn't too bad.  A straightforward question about whether your oppose or support a position.  Fair question.
#6: Bad question if only because it doesn't give any indication regarding what the League of Conservation Voters is.  It gets worse when you consider that it's basing your entire stance on environmental issues purely on whether you like or dislike the positions of a group of people.  Horrible question.
#7: Not too bad.  Like question 5: a question simply about whether you oppose or support a position.  Fair question.
#8: Bad, bad, bad, bad question.  The response would be exactly the same both for someone who would outlaw all recognition of same-sex relationships and for someone who would oppose civil unions in favor of full same-sex marriage.  Doesn't give any recourse for those who want full same-sex marriage.  Horrible question.
#9: Okay, I guess.  Overly simplified, but presents both options.  Mediocre question.
#10: Again, mentions a group without specifying who they are, and this time, it can't be inferred just from the group's name, either.  However, the nature of the group is not as fundamental to the question as it was in question 6.  The question is still bad, however, as one can want to lower taxes and yet not be concerned about the deficit.  The way it links taxes and the deficit in such an intimate manner is inexcusably stupid.  Horrible question.
#11: Yet again, mentions groups without specifying who they are, although the inclusion of the terms "pro-business" and "pro-labor" make this more forgiveable than if they had been left out.  It is horribly oversimplified, however, and that combined with their moronic throwing about of names without explanatory material makes this another horrible question.
#12: Okay, another support/oppose question, which is not too bad.  A bit too simplified, however.  Would be better if you could specify when you support the use of the death penalty, not just whether you support its use at all.  Mediocre question.
#13: Ugh.  No middle ground whatsoever.  You're either a moonbat from one side or a moonbat from another side.  Again it mentions a couple groups without explaining any of them.  All in all, another horrible question.
#14: Please, guys, please- take the time to actually define what the positions are that you're talking about.  Stop relying on the test-taker's knowledge of organizations.  I have absolutely no idea what either group exactly wants, and as such, this is yet another horrible question.
#15: For once they actually define what is being talked about, so that's a plus.  However, this question, which is supposed to get the test-taker's opinion of immigration, is reduced to what it was in question 6, which is to say that your opinion can only be defined in terms of what you think of a group's ideas.  Even though it finally defined something, this is still a horrible question.
#16: Finally, a question with more than two options.  I can fairly say that this is actually a good question.  I can't find any complaints with it.
#17: Like question 16.  Another good question.  Now if only they hadn't waited until the last two questions to start making the questions good.

In summary:

2 good questions
2 fair questions
2 mediocre questions
11 horrible questions

That is a failing grade.  Try again.  You lose.

In spite of all this, I took the test while criticizing it, and here are my meaningless results:

    (100%) 1: Sen. Christopher Dodd (D) Information
   (98%) 2: Ex-Gen. Wesley Clark (D) Information
   (98%) 3: Sen. Russ Feingold (D) Information
   (94%) 4: Gov. Tom Vilsack (D) Information
   (94%) 5: Sen. Hillary Clinton (D) Information
   (92%) 6: Sen. Evan Bayh (D) Information
   (90%) 7: Ex-VP Al Gore (D) Information
   (86%) 8: Sen. John Kerry (D) Information
   (82%) 9: Ex-Gov. Mark Warner (D) Information
   (82%) 10: Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D) Information
   (78%) 11: Sen. Joseph Biden (D) Information
   (74%) 12: Ex-Sen. John Edwards (D) Information
   (72%) 13: Gov. Bill Richardson (D) Information
   (72%) 14: Gov. Mitt Romney (R) Information
   (64%) 15: Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) Information
   (64%) 16: Sec. Condoleezza Rice (R) Information
   (60%) 17: Ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) Information
   (60%) 18: Gov. George Pataki (R) Information
   (54%) 19: Sen. George Allen (R) Information
   (54%) 20: Sen. John McCain (R) Information
(52%) 21: Sen. Majority Leader Bill Frist (R) Information
   (45%) 22: Ex-Rep. Newt Gingrich (R) Information
   (43%) 23: Rep. Tom Tancredo (R) Information
   (41%) 24: Sen. Sam Brownback (R) Information
   (37%) 25: Sen. Chuck Hagel (R) Information

Despite my specifying that I wished my candidate to be a governor, it couldn't even get that right, and matched me up with a senator.  This test is pitiful.

I agree with Gabu's assesment of the questions for the most part.  Also, there was not one question on health care, even though health care is the top domestic issue on most voters minds right now.  Not one question on health care!

I would have to agree with the criticism of this quiz only having one extreme or the other with nothing in between, so I answered Neither for some.

That said, I guessed before hand that, of the choices given, Brownback and Tancredo would be my top two.

I knew I liked Kerry for a reason, although I didnt think I was that close to him. But to be fair, this quiz did suck. Smiley BTW, I hold the record for the least in common with a candidate! Yay!   ^ _^
