Was it Bill's plan or Hillary's?

The story was that Bill was dubious about many aspects of the plan, but Hillary was adamant, and the president didn't want to cross her.

The analysis you attached is very slanted, BTW.

To answer the question, I didn't support it, and I was uninsured at the time.  The plan was very dictatorial, and included gender and racial quotas for medical school admissions.

Overall, I supported it. But it certainly wasn't without its flaws.

I just said NO then, and I just say NO now.

Truly trash policy, and trash legislation.  May the horror of the HillaryCare debacle never be repeated, but certainly never forgotten.

Having read through its description (I knew next to nothing about it at the time) -no, I would not have supported it.

I was only 14 years old at the time, and would have supported it. I've never read up on the details, though.

Hmmm.  You and I are roughly the same age then.

Why would any non-rich person object to this plan?

Not a chance in Gods green earth of me ever voting for such trash.

Ditto.   But the question is does the word "trash" refer to the plan or the red nosed sex addict who wrote the bill?

Both.

Nope.

Still, I don't think Clinton had any overtly ill intentions with a plan like that.

im amazed at the hostility.

surely you all recognize there is a huge problem.  the problem has only gotten worse over the last decade.

if we provide health care for our prisoners, why cant we provide it for lower income workers who earn too much to qualify for medicaid?

Why should I pay extra taxes for someone to run to the doctor every time they get a simple cold or flu? The problem with insurance as it is now is everyone runs to the doctor for ever simple, non serious illness. Sometimes I think young and realitively healthy people really to suck it up and suffer out the illness instead of running to a doctor 4 times a year for antibiotics.

So you've never wanted a cough suppresant? or something to stop a runny nose? never needed anything to help a flu?
If you've ever had a cold/flu you'd know that althought they usally aren;'t fatal, medicines should be avaliable at low cost to the poor so they don't have to suffer from the symptoms.

You are aware that there are plentiful over the counter medicines that are not too costly that deal with the symptoms of cold and flu, right? You don't need to burden the insurance company by getting a perscription from a doctor every time you have a runny nose - it only drives the cost of insurance up for everyone when people do, and the poor are hit hardest by that type of thing.
