Now Nagin is ahead:

Mayor, City of New Orleans
99 of 442 precincts reporting
Click here for Results by Precinct
9,404 49% "Mitch" Landrieu, D  -
9,744 51% C. Ray Nagin, D

No, Landreiu leads 52-48 with 201 precincts reporting. BTW, your source is lagging.
What the hell is your source?

Mayoral race and 2 of the council seats have the incumbent narrowly trailing.

Mayor is currently Landrieu leading 51-49 with 220/442 precincts.

Landreiu leads Nagin 23,683-23,342 (50%-50%) with 231 precincts in.

Now Landreiu is 25,555-23,869. 52%-48%. I wonder if there's a lot of ballot stuffing going on.

Why? The way the results arrive is fairly run-off-the-mill: a bit more for this guy, a bit more for that - it's all the precincts in different neighborhoods, unsurprising given the population patterns.

What is interesting is that both the official source (LA Secretary of State) and the tv station claim to report the same number of precincts (247), but have very different results posted:

wwltv:

247 of 442 Precincts
56%

Mitch Landrieu
26,042
52%

Ray Nagin (I)
24,253

C. Ray Nagin   24,253   50.08%

Yes, just noted (see above). The only explanation I can get is those are the different precincts, but having 247 at the same time in both is slightly strange.  Probably just a coincidence, but if it continues I'd get suspicious.

EDIT: the number of votes for Nagin is the same in both. That's strange - one of the two is definitely adding things up wrong. The question is, who.

wwltv must have corrected an addition error:

368 of 442 Precincts
83%

Ray Nagin (I)
37,221
51%

Mitch Landrieu
35,675
49%

Judging by the wwltv looks like the other way around (see above). Still close, though.

Council District A is also close, the Democratic challenger Midura might knock off the Republican incumbent Batt.

You'd think that the Bush donor should be trailing.
