The Communists support the West and the conservatives support Russia. Quiote a strange place.
I remember reading the newspaper headline "Pro-Western Communists Win In Moldova". I just read the first part initially, saw only "Pro-Western Communists" and did a double take.

Ethnically it's basically Romanian, yeah. (Well, most of it.) One of the poorest places in Europe, alongside Albania. Neither country's economies would look out of place in South Asia or Africa, really.

There isn't really any difference between Romanians and Moldovans, much like Germans and Austrians. The far eastern part is mostly Slavic, but that area is controlled by a seperatist regime which is really a Russian puppet state that wouldn't last two weeks without the massive aid Russia pours into and the troops they keep stationing there.

Well.. I won't say exactly, but it isn't a lot. I'm actually probably going to take a teaching job here soon. Just a week or two of fun before that
