It hardly matters. Phil was elected President while ineligible.

Why was Phil ineligible?

Phil was banned from holding office for six months as a punishment because he was registered to vote with two accounts (his own and Naso's).

However, luckily for Phil, the Supreme Court decided the AG improperly attained evidence against Phil (obtaining IP addresses without a search warrant) and threw the case out, allowing Phil to take office.

Haha wow.

I'm sorry in advance if this is posted in the wrong place.

sbane, I'm a new citizen of the Northeast and have been reading up on what the Assembly has done this term. I have a few questions for you, since you're running for re-election:

Do you support Assemblyman Matthews' proposal to designate English as the official language of the Northeast Region?

Do you support the single transferrable vote system currently in place in Atlasia, or do you feel that there is some better alternative that could be implemented?

Do you believe that a flat-income-tax proposal is a fundamentally good idea or a bad idea?

You haven't introduced any legislation this term, but you've proposed a few interesting amendments to proposed legislation. Why should I support your candidacy, on the basis of your record?

Thanks for your time,

hc

I do not support any attempts to create an official language in our region. I do support STV, and it is certainly preferably to FPTP. I do not think a flat tax is a good idea, and believe in a reasonable progressive tax.

Our assembly is way to the right of what is the norm in atlasia, and I have to adapt to that. I would love to institute a progressive tax, but it's not going to pass the assembly. I was successful in adding an exemption for the poor, but even that was vetoed by the governor. I have not introduced any legislation because I have none in mind that have a chance of passing the assembly. I thought I proposed a reasonable wind farm bill last session, but again that was vetoed. I usually don't like to spend time drafting bills that have no chance of passage. If there is any bill you would like me to propose, or any issue you would like me to tackle, please do let me know.

Thanks for your questions. I have opened up an office thread where you can ask me further questions here.
