Never mind I am running as Lt. Governor with Xahar.

Good luck; Alcon is as respected a figure as they come.

Crap I had no idea I was running against Alcon. Oh well if I am lucky, all of the forumites will vote stoned or drunk and look at my user name and be like"haha he is an evilmexican so I will vote for him"

I haven't been following declarations closely, so he may have passed the baton off to someone else, but unless that's the case, he'll be your opponent.

That would be weird. Why would the JCP just give up an office?

Alcon made a "I'm running for Lt. Governor forever until I say otherwise" declaration a while ago.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you for letting me know.

Afleitch will have to have a write in campaign because stating he "might" run is not an affirmation.

He said that he "thinks" he'll run, though I suppose that's not an affirmation either. Has this ever happened before, where only one ticket for President declared before the deadline?

I suppose this begs the question: what if Afleitch gets the most votes for President, but Meeker gets the most votes for Vice-President?

The top ticket wins.

So Bgwah/Meeker in that case? Would be interesting to have a scenario where the White House is split between two different tickets, but I can't complain. Smiley

Too late. The Spade case means you can't pull that trick.

Okay, didn't know that. There's still more than one way to skin a cat...

Basically, once the election starts, you can't withdraw. Also, if you're a declared candidate, you can't not accept votes.

I've already accepted your analysis. However, as I said, there is more than one way to skin a cat. If you'll check the voting booth, you'll see what I mean.

     Ooh ooh! Me too! Smiley

Excellent job, both of you.

I hope the Senate calls for a revote of some kind.

I'll be on the forefront of supporting it.

Plus SPC as a write-in. Still not enough, though.

Um... is no one running for the Northeast or Midwest seats?

I thought that Smid was running for the Northeastern seat. Has something happened with that?

EDIT: I just noticed that he had switched to running for Governor.

So now all but one of the regional senate elections are uncontested?

Hooray, regionalism!

Actually, the Mideast one is contended.

     Mideast & what else?

I should note that I had the exact same conversation with Torie prior to him running for Senate that Xahar has been having with Hamilton.
Were you RPP at the time? (I believe you were)

The RPP did not exist at that time. Torie was first elected to the Senate in June 2008.

He isn't. He also tried to run back in February, despite not being a registered voter.
