Texas - though you can override it on individual races.

I am going to post this question on the Congressional Elections board as well, since it isn't getting many answers yet.  The reason I put it on the Gubernatorial board is b/c that's where most of the debate has come up.

South Carolina has a party line that does not include the presidential race if there is one, plus voters have the option of overriding it on specific races.

I think NY had it at one point, I have a vague recollection of a lever for it in the voting booth a while back.

Yes, I believe it did. I remember the noise.

Either 6 states have dropped the option since 2002 (when that map was made) or this article missed 6, since it says that only 11 states have the option.  Unfortunately, it doesn't list the 11.

I'm fairly sure PA had it during the 2004 elections.

EDIT: and Missouri is moving to abolish it.

So where it stands now is:
PA
WI
SC
MI
MO (moving to abolish it)
NC

This is 5--we need 6 more.

Straight-party voting is ludicrous.

I'm not too lazy to push the button for each Republican candidate individually, thank you very much Smiley
