Bob Neill got it - not quite what many expected, but he has a good record in the Assembly and is a safe bet; I would have expected an embarassing campaign had an A-lister ran.

Lib Dems seem to mass on PB when election results are due- going on about their 'sources' and watching the betting markets. It was like this during Moray. Funilly enough during Dunfermline I think it was everyone elses 'sources 'and not theirs saying the Lib Dems could win...

Poor showing from the Tories. Some comfort can be taken from the low turnout (possibly due to the belief it would be a shoe in) but lessons have to be learned.
