Are you suggesting that it should be instead Fascist China That Has Incorporated The Worst Aspects of Capitalism To Make Its Citizens' Lives Even More Bleak?

It will hurt it badly if it hasn't already.  And if Granhold has any brains at all, she will hammer at this point like there's no tomorrow.

It will hurt, I think.  With as much media talk about shipping jobs overseas, this could hurt him pretty bad.

I think if she's smart--she will stay away, otherwise it will look like mud-slinging.  Let her supporters do the mudslinging and she talks about her + sides--that's the good choice

Capitalist countries can't be accurately described as communist.

And how is it considered a capitalist country?

Rather than explaining it myself, it'd probably be best for you to start reading here:

For questions and/or comments, I'll be right here.

Totalitarian attitutudes may be a common aspect of communism, but totalitarianism does not really make something communist.

Yeah, communist=far extreme left wing, and I don't see much of anything left-wing about China.

The only real communist country remaining is Cuba.

China's government is similar to Pinochet's, not any communist one.

Vietnam has gone in a similar free market direction, although not as far.

North Korea is no longer based on communist ideology and hasn't been for a very long time, just a nutty personality cult.

I didn't have time to read the whole thing right now, but here's a little quote from it:

"Critics and supporters alike have claimed many of his reforms helped bring his country closer to capitalism.

Deng formed the core of the "second generation" CPC leadership. Under his tutelage, China developed one of the fastest growing economies in the world while keeping the Communist Party in tight overall control."

I think we have 2 different views of Comm.  I would still classify it as a Comm. country (as I would've the U.S.S.R. during Glastnost and Perostroika--I'm assuming you wouldn't have called it Comm. @ that point?).  But you are right--they are becoming more captitalist.  Not to get too off-subject, but what do you think about the possibility of China invading Taiwan?

Just as an additive, Zemin and Jintao and etc. have furthered what Xiaoping started.

And no, I certainly wouldn't call the Gorbachev-era Soviet Union communist.  They completely abandoned all recognizable principles of Marxism, as has post-Mao China.  Even under Stalin the USSR wasn't a communist state by the real definition.  He created an elite and a bureaucracy.
