I would hold my nose and vote for Pataki. Daschle did the Democrats a lot of injustice during his time as minority leader. He was usually the first to just roll over.

Just looking at their names makes me bored/depressed. I wouldn't sleep through the election, though. I dislike Daschle a lot and would work against him as much as I could.

Of these absolutely two horrible choices, I would vote for Pataki.

Pataki was at least a good Governor.  Daschle was a terrible majority and minority leader, with no credibility as a national candidate at all.

I think that Daschle would have been a good President, although he was of course too soft spoken to be likely to win.

He was able to do quite well politically in South Dakota, which is one of the most Republican states in the country.

I'm curious as tp why you think West Virginia, Missouri, and Arkansas would go to Dalshe while Washington, Oregon, and New Jersey decided to pass.
