A quick look at that board makes me think there are a lot of very sick people out there.

As Maggie Thatcher once put it "The veneer of civilization is very thin"

Most of the comments are like "rest in peace" or "condolences".

Much better than Yahoo boards: "Now Will Jodie Foster Marry Hinkley ?" "Wait till Clinton dies"

i bet when nelson mandela dies, those DU posters will criticize his lack of aids policy too.  (holding breath)

Most of the comments are like "rest in peace" or "condolences".

But there's also plenty of juvenile stuff there too. Some of these people need to grow up. I mean, I disagree with a lot of Reagan's policies but I still respect the guy.

But then that's the internet for you. Anything goes on some boards. Speaking of which...

Ah. Nothing like the Yahoo boards to completely and utterly destroy one's faith in humanity...

The Democratic Underground.  Why in hell did I just go over there?  Curiosity.   I'd heard about that site, but you gotta see it to believe it.  I very much regret it.  Classless haters.

I like it when DU breaks out into amusing fights between various camps like now. I won't bother to check the Yahoo boards.

I find it amusing that I'm considered a far left wing extremist nutcase here and on DU most consider me a moderate or even conservative.

Goodbye, President reagan.  I always disagreed with you politically, but as a man you are as good as any.  In hindsight, you did great for our country.

Wrong. They're people who give humanists a bad name. It's like saying that the "nuke 'em!"-brigade represent mainstream Republicans.

I know you're half-kidding, but I see myself as a humanist and there's no way I'm associating with those idiots at Democratic Underground. Ever.

Good Bye President Reagan. You were a good man, I wouldn't of voted for you, or agreed with you politically, but in the long run you've proved yourself.

In terms of the election, I think this will stir pro-Republican feelings. Those who don't like Bush will say, this is still the Republicans, Reagan's Party. And those who felt disenfranshised with Bush may vote for Bush. This will not hurt or help the democrats except will unify the Republicans.

is that any different than saying "let's win this election for Paul Wellstone?" Don't be hypocrites folks.
