That quiz doesn't work very well for me since I'm outside American mainstream ideology.

I agree fully, I could not even fully answer nine of the questions because I didn't like any of the answers.  It's a horrible quiz for me and for most libertarians.

I had this quiz as homework in my 11th grade government class.    I knew it was bad when I read the first question online today.

Your Issue Profile: 36% Obama, 64% McCain
When it gets down to it, you tend to best match John McCain.
But he's not the perfect candidate for you, and you may not be sold on him yet.

Obama shares a good number of your views too, so you might want to give him a second look.
It all comes down to which issues matter to you the most.

Amen to that.

In all honesty I've been more and more wary of Obama for a long time now. But where I seriously am concerned is Iraq. We should not set any arbitrary withdrawal dates, something he's waffled on after (wrongly IMO) supporting. On the other hand McCain has anger management issues and ties to PNAC-type nuts.

Truth be told, you're not really satisfied with either of the candidates.
You could vote for either of them. You are the typical coveted swing voter.

You may want to narrow yourself down to a particular set of issues in order to pick your president.
Or start looking at third party candidates. One of them might suit you better.

Ok this is getting ridiculous:

http://www.politicalbase.com/toolbox/&action=takePersonalityTest&testId=16

John McCain - 52%

As a Vietnam war veteran and someone who has a record of bi-partisan work on issues like campaign finance reform and immigration reform, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has often won praises for his willingness to buck his own party on issues. Unlike his opponent, McCain is a staunch supporter of the war in Iraq, a social conservative who believes that the Supreme Court should overturn a woman's right to an abortion, and fiscal conservative who believes the Bush tax cuts should be made permanent and that corporate tax rates be further lowered.

Barack Obama - 45%

While only having served in the United States Senate for about four years, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has electrified the presidential stage. Earlier this year, Obama defeated the much vaunted Clinton machine in the Democratic primaries, receiving 18 million votes, as Democratic voters flocked to the polls in record numbers. Unlike his opponent, Obama opposed the Iraq war from the start and is running his campaign on the theme of working together to fix the economy, provide affordable health care to all Americans, restoring the nation's moral authority on the world stage, and keeping the lobbyists and special interests out of the White House.

Considering how I opposed universal healthcare for all Americans, repealing the tax cuts, government mandated global warming policies, and the US having direct talks with Iran, while supporting the current Iraq strategy, privatizing Social Security, school vouchers, free trade, and offshore drilling, I can't understand why I support Obama 100% of the time. I did agree with him on abortion, stem cell research, withdrawing the troops in Iraq, and not banning same sex marriage.

My result from The Typology Quiz:

    Pro-Government Conservative

Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Pro-Government Conservative typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues.

Pro-Government Conservatives represent 9 percent of the American public, and 10 percent of registered voters.

    Basic Description
Pro-Government Conservatives stand out for their strong religious faith and conservative views on many social and cultural issues. They also express broad support for a social safety net, which sets them apart from the other two core Republican groups. While backing George W. Bush by roughly six-to-one, this group has one of the lowest incomes levels in the typology. Pro-Government Conservatives are skeptical about the effectiveness of the marketplace, favoring government regulation to protect the public interest, and government assistance for the needy.

    Defining Values
Religious, financially insecure, and favorable toward government programs. Support the Iraq war and an assertive foreign policy, but less uniformly so than Enterprisers or Social Conservatives. Back government involvement in a wide range of policy areas, from poverty assistance to protecting morality and regulating industry.

    Who They Are
