Dem. Socialist
16 authority, 30 economy

Democratic socialist. You think capitalism is irreparably flawed, and believe in a representative democracy with a socialist economy. It's fairly likely that you don't really think of yourself as a socialist. You're no radical, but you're definitely to the left of most liberals.

Probably because I answered slightly less radically towards the market questions.

Minarchist conservative. You think the government's role should be pretty much limited to physically protecting us while we go about our business -- police, military, courts, and that's about it. While it might be necessary to set the rules of the economic game, there shouldn't be a whole lot of regulating the market.

So why are you a Democrat?

Liberal. A well-regulated market economy and an accountable representative democracy will do you just fine, thank you very much. No need for a radical overhaul of the system, but you'd like to see some reforms to protect the people who are marginalized by it.

Probably because I answered slightly less radically towards the market questions.

Yeah, likewise I think.

Con. Capitalist

-8 authority, -20 economy

Conservative capitalist. You're a pretty standard conservative as far as government and war and religion goes, but you really want the state to keep out of the market economy. Free markets mean free people, right?

Socialist

Socialist. You seem to be a generic socialist, without any particular government model in mind. You don't want Stalinist genocides to stamp out enemies of the state, but you also don't think things should be a free-for all with no government at all. You're strongly critical of capitalism, either way.

Economic Lib.
-2 authority, 14 economy

Economic liberal. You don't have any strong opinion about the form and powers of government, or at least you're comfortable with them as they are now. But you do think that unrestrained capitalism is harmful, and there must be some regulation to make it fair. You're not quite a moderate, but you're not outrageously liberal, either.

Social Con.
-16 authority, 2 economy

Social conservative. The economy doesn't trouble you, but you think any society needs clear rules to survive. Everyone has a place, or a calling. You probably drive a truck or an SUV. You support the troops. You believe in God. You think of yourself as an Average Joe or Jane, and in many parts of the country, you are.

Conservative
-10 Authority, -8 Economy

Conservative. You are the modern American conservative. You believe in strong government, though one with low taxes, and a free market. War is a regrettable necessity in many cases. You have a clear sense of morality, probably because you go to church. You're politically motivated.

I don't know where they get "strong government" from.

My result

Your best fit is...
Young Outsider
along with 13% of the public.

2012 vote: 37% for Obama | 48% for Romney

This relatively young, largely independent group holds a mix of conservative and liberal views. And while more lean toward the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, Young Outsiders generally express unfavorable opinions of both major parties. They are largely skeptical of activist government, as a substantial majority views government as wasteful and inefficient. Yet many diverge from the two conservative typology groups – Steadfast Conservatives and Business Conservatives – in their strong support for the environment and many liberal social policies.

Labor second
Coalition isn't as bad on the issues as I thought they would be, based on what people say about Abbott.

Oldies, how are you a Republican? Have you seen where that site places Obama on their compass based on what his answers would be to that same test? I feel like their test us supposed to put one a good deal the right of their atlas result unless you are truly answering as an ideologically pure leftist.
