Republican

You scored 46% economically responsible, 36% self-destructively free and 46% expressively free.

The marketplace may be every man for himself, but when it comes to real people, rules are a must! You believe in keeping people from doing harm to themselves, but allow moderate invasion of others' comfort zones. Freedom of press is important.

Economy (conservative): The government shouldn't baby individuals through the predictable storms of supply and demand. The system will naturally readjust itself to problems without government intervention. Furthermore, imposing arbitrary rules against success is actually unfair as it ignores the hard work of the successful.

Personal Freedom (conservative):
People are stupid and can't be trusted to do what they want. Society has an obligation to keep them from hurting themselves, perhaps to limit its spread, but mainly to preserve the ideals of a healthy society. Even crackpots in hiding ruins our reputation.

Expressive Freedom (moderate): We should strike a careful balance between governing the clash of viewpoints and allowing an ideological brawl. Some issues simply should be kept to private quarters (if there), regardless of how strongly people feel about them -- it can be dangerous and inappropriate in public. At the same time, being too restrictive isn't fair; this is supposed to be a free country. If it's not too dangerous or offensive, then let them share. Otherwise...

Strange Democrat

You scored 98% economically responsible, 83% self-destructively free and 74% expressively free.

You want to control the marketplace, but not people... ideological conflicts are inevitable, and the government shouldn't silence them.

Economy (liberal): The economy is a raging force that must be controlled or we will be swept away. We have to remember that it is founded on greed, and unchecked greed is a recipe for disaster. Rigid rules must be in place to limit the powerful and prevent tragedies from slipping through the cracks.

Personal Freedom (liberal): If it only involves me, what right does anyone have to tell me no? A person should be allowed to be as stupid and harmful to themselves as they want, and letting the government go in, imposing majority morality, is dangerously tyrannical.

Expressive Freedom (liberal): This is a free country, isn't it? Why should my voice be silenced, just because you don' t like what it has to say? If I can do it in private, I can do it in public. You're always free to leave. Hampering a person's right to free expression is dangerously tyrannical.

Personal Religion, by Kierkegaard

36% Nature, 54% Rationalism, 50% Religion, 43% Freedom, 67% Individuality, 29% Power and 56% Uncertainty!

You scored highest on the variable Individuality. Individuality was an important part of Kierkegaard's philosophy.

Søren Kierkegaard, 1813- 1855, Denmark.

Kierkegaard thought true religion should be found within yourself and not in uniformity. He did not oppose Christianity, but he opposed the Christian Church. The Church preached faith for the masses by rituals and generalization, which makes one lose its identity and leads to despair. True peace can only be found within yourself. As more and more people claim to have a personal belief/religion instead of conforming to a church, I think Kierkegaard was ahead of his time.

Existentialism, by Sartre
28% Nature, 67% Rationalism, 25% Religion, 74% Freedom, 67% Individuality, 50% Power and 36% Uncertainty!

You scored highest on the variable Freedom. Freedom was an important part of Sartre's philosophy.

Jean-Paul Sartre, 1905 – 1980, France.

Sartre does not believe in unknowable or underlying truths or meanings. The only thing we can be sure of is that we die. Which gives us an incredible amount of freedom, to choose what we want to believe and how we want to live our lives. But if there's no meaning and we die anyway, this all seems futile. Kind of depressing, but it should make you live your life to the fullest!

This was surprisingly accurate.

Left Collective

You're on the left and collective quadrant of the political compass! You value the role of big government in providing all citizens with essential services and you believe that government's job is to guarantee equality. You favor higher taxes on the rich and believe in more publicly funded programs for the disadvantaged. You're sceptical of the free market and you think that too much individualism is dangerous. You hold many communitarian values and you support limiting certain individual freedoms for the good of society. You're compassionate, idealistic and deeply dedicated to your community! You're a proud bleeding heart! What's do you think? Is this accurate?

Not the best test, but nevertheless.

I love how close I am close to national socialism (eg. nazism)

Right Libertarian

You're on the right and libertarian quadrant of the political spectrum! You prize individualism and personal liberty above all else. You believe in private property and the free market. You tend to be patriotic but you're sceptical of the state and you find little to no value in government institutions. You believe that success depends on the individual's ability to pull themselves up by their own boot straps and take advantage of the opportunities they have. You see taxes as a form of oppression and you believe that the greatest threat to freedom is big government. You believe in a society of independent and hard-working individuals who take care of themselves. You want big brother out of your bedroom, out of your bank account, and off your property!

That chart is ridiculous. Apparently "Activism" is now an ideology, and the term "Progressivism" now refers to a right wing ideology that falls somewhere in between conservatism and libertarianism.

I got Right Collective.

There are only four results, the chart is just to make the quiz look more complicated than it actually is. Anything hosted by buzz is the same garbage, the entire website exists for Facebook likes and naive advertising. The success of this site is a herald to the decline of the internet.

Below is a much better test:

http://www.helloquizzy.com/tests/the-moral-politics-test

I got capital republican.

NeoLiberalism
You scored -1Moral Order, -11 Moral Rules!

Neoliberalism is a political philosophy and a political-economic movement beginning in the 1970s that de-emphasizes or rejects government intervention in the economy, focusing instead on achieving progress and even social justice by more free-market methods, especially an emphasis on economic growth, as measured by changes in real gross domestic product.

Your result for The Moral Politics Test ...

Social Republicanism

You scored 4Moral Order, 5 Moral Rules!

Republicanism describes what is more commonly called a representative democracy; it restricts the term "democracy" to refer only to direct democracy. For these reason, the primary difference between the Social Democracy and Social Republicanism is that later's attachment to preserve existing class structures and delineations. People who fall in this category tend to be moderate conservatives in most countries around the world (except for the United States, which is more Capitalistic). Parties that fall in this category tend to refer themselves as republicans.

You want government out of your personal life, at least to some degree. But you want more government intervention in the economy. Politically, you appear to be a solid Democrat, and quite happy with our current president.

http://www.quiz2d.com/quiz/resultGraph.php?picfile=CentristConservative.png&personal=49.6&economic=58.6

Change just the importance of the issues and it would be back to Smaller Government Centrist, which was my decisive result last time I took this test.

I remember the first time I took this test was in 2007, and I scored as a Social Liberal. In 2008 I retook it and scored as a Hard-Core Liberal. In 2010 I retook it and I think I was a liberal leaning centrist. This was on an older version of the test, the '04 version. Here's my current results for that test:

http://www.quiz2d.com/quiz/resultGraph.php?picfile=CentristLibertarian.png&personal=66.3&economic=62

Big rightward shift and I don't even have a real job yet.

Maybe it's because when I look at overpriced items at stores and bad deals (stupid cable companies and college textbook publishers) I don't think of big business but lack of market competition. One thing I will always support the gov doing is enforcing and maybe expanding antitrust laws.

"You're on the right and collective quadrant of the political compass! You believe in a strong military, an efficient government to intervene when necessary, low taxes and a free market economy. You value tradition, hardwork, and you tend to respect religious authority. You're patriotic and sceptical of people looking for a hand out. You believe in government institutions and you have a strong sense of belonging to those with the same nationality as you. You believe in individual freedoms, but you also take into account tradition and social order. Anarchy and communism are your worst nightmares! Ronald Reagan is most likely one of your personal heroes! What do you think? Is this accurate?"

Yes, very accurate.

"Neoliberalism is a political philosophy and a political-economic movement beginning in the 1970s that de-emphasizes or rejects government intervention in the economy, focusing instead on achieving progress and even social justice by more free-market methods, especially an emphasis on economic growth, as measured by changes in real gross domestic product."

"Neoliberalism" is an insult that social democrats use, it means nothing - even though I agree with the fairly neutral description in my test result. And while I'm conservative, I'm not as conservative as shown here.
