Dem. Socialist
16 authority, 30 economy

Democratic socialist. You think capitalism is irreparably flawed, and believe in a representative democracy with a socialist economy. It's fairly likely that you don't really think of yourself as a socialist. You're no radical, but you're definitely to the left of most liberals.

Probably because I answered slightly less radically towards the market questions.

8 authority, -18 economy

Minarchist conservative. You think the government's role should be pretty much limited to physically protecting us while we go about our business -- police, military, courts, and that's about it. While it might be necessary to set the rules of the economic game, there shouldn't be a whole lot of regulating the market.
So why are you a Democrat?

Oldies, how are you a Republican? Have you seen where that site places Obama on their compass based on what his answers would be to that same test? I feel like their test us supposed to put one a good deal the right of their atlas result unless you are truly answering as an ideologically pure leftist.

The political compass is designed to give everyone leftwing scores and claim all of the mainstream politicians are far right. The conclusion everyone who takes that test is supposed to come to is they're to the left of Obama on both axes, so the time is right for our Trotskyist revolution, or at least that no one should ever vote for Republicans. I'd love to see what answers they ascribe to Obama to make him more socially conservative than me.
He isn't socially conservative rather he's a social authoritarian.

Getting a -10 social means you believe in astrology (one of many reasons why the PC is terrible).
No, I voted strongly against that.

Political Values

Progressivism   97.5
Socialism   100
Tenderness   56.25

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear communist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible radical egalitarian with a firmly established worldview.

Most similar: Benjamin Harrison was born to an Ohio family of comfortable means. He was descended from a signer of the Declaration of Independence by the same name, and was the grandson of William Henry Harrison. Harrison was famously reserved and even icy. He lacked close friends and demanded much of his contemporaries. However, he was widely respected for his intelligence and general knowledge of the world. He was a remarkably stable man, avoiding rash decisions or emotional swings, even if he was not particularly warm to others. He avoided major scandal throughout his time in office.

Also Similar to: George Washington was born into the landed gentry of colonial Virginia. Though not an extreme intellectual, he was well read and open to all manner of ideas and philosophies. He was generally a quiet man, keeping his own council, and was not terribly concerned about appearing agreeable to others. Where others made jokes to lighten the mood, Washington was solemn. He was extremely organized and had an outstanding work ethic. He also had a remarkable sense of calm and was rarely out of sorts emotionally. He was almost universally deemed a great man by his peers.

Also Similar to: James Madison was born into a family of comfortable means in Virginia. He was an intellectually brilliant man, instrumental and the writing and passage of the U.S. Constitution. He was intensely interested in the philosophical questions of political power and theory. He was quiet, yet forceful in his opinions. He was willing to consider all sides of an issue before making a decision, and was sometimes accused of indecisiveness. What Madison lacked in public charisma, he made up for with an intense work ethic and behind the scenes consensus building. He also was not attached to any major scandals in his time.

Least similar: Warren G. Harding was born to a family of comfortable means in rural Ohio. His salient characteristic was his affability. He made friends quite easily and was always ready for a good time. He was not an intellectual. For someone who became President, he was remarkably prone to cronyism and often lacked the work ethic for the job. This famously led to the Teapot Dome scandal. He was a notorious carouser and a womanizer. He also had psychological demons, having suffered a nervous breakdown at the age of 24. His body never underwent an autopsy after his sudden death in San Francisco, while still President.

Compass:
You are a far-left social libertarian.
Left: 7.91, Libertarian: 8.38
It seems that it pushed me to the right on several questions even though I answered them from an Anarchist position.

Foreign Policy:
On the left side are pacifists and anti-war activists. On the right side are those who want a strong military that intervenes around the world. You scored: -10
Yeah, this makes sense.

Culture:
Where are you in the culture war? On the liberal side, or the conservative side? This scale may apply more to the US than other countries. You scored: -8.94
I actually think that it moved me right because I don't believe people should be jailed for speech, wtf.

Existentialism, by Sartre
28% Nature, 67% Rationalism, 25% Religion, 74% Freedom, 67% Individuality, 50% Power and 36% Uncertainty!

You scored highest on the variable Freedom. Freedom was an important part of Sartre's philosophy.

Jean-Paul Sartre, 1905 – 1980, France.

Sartre does not believe in unknowable or underlying truths or meanings. The only thing we can be sure of is that we die. Which gives us an incredible amount of freedom, to choose what we want to believe and how we want to live our lives. But if there's no meaning and we die anyway, this all seems futile. Kind of depressing, but it should make you live your life to the fullest!

This was surprisingly accurate.

Intell did a good one a bit earlier:
http://helloquizzy.okcupid.com/results/the-political-objectives-test/?var_Stability=-6&var_Liberty=6&var_Equality=5&fromCGI=1

Revolutionary
You scored 86 Equality, 93 Liberty, and 7 Stability!

Your overwhelming attachment to both liberty and equality makes you a blend of the Anarchist and the Communist and you may call yourself both. Others may see revolution as a useful tool but for you it must be a constant phenomenon. Concentrations of power form in a stagnant world and so it is necessary to always be challenging inertia in society and in oneself. You are likely to think that other communists are gravely mistaken in regarding the state as useful. And you think other anarchists are overly egocentric – sometimes you have got to commit to your fellows and your cause till the very end. If this is all a bit much for you then try the Radical on for size.
