Marketliberal.org: Social 95, Economic 65; overall Left-Libertarian.

Enhanced-Precision Quiz: Left-Leaning Freedom Lover

You desire substantially less government control of personal activity and somewhat less government control over economic activity than is presently the case in the U.S. You are a moderate libertarian by some definitions; others prefer to limit the term "libertarian" to those closer to the top corner of this graph, so I use the term Left-Leaning Freedom Lover to avoid confusion.

Your views are probably best represented by the Modern Whig Party. Whether it gets off the ground is still to be seen. Or you might like my plan for starting a third party— useful for starting from scratch or reforming an existing third party. Finally, your views could be represented by a mix of Democrats and Libertarians in office.

Approximately 14% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area.

You are an anarcho-capitalist. 0 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 1 percent are more extremist than you.

So I'm an extremist now. How fun.

Scott, what on earth is that quiz?

Example question: "35. Jewish people are overrepresented in positions where important decisions are made."

Anyhow,

You Scored as Anarcho-Capitalism
You're an anarcho-capitalist. You think that people know what's best for themselves and absolutely no one can tell them otherwise. You can take care of yourself, and you expect everyone else to do the same. You're happy to help others, but only because you want to, not because you're compelled to do it. Ludwig von Mises, David Friedman and Ayn Rand should be authors you enjoy.

Anarcho-Capitalism
   83%
Minarchism/Libertarianism
   75%
Anarcho-Communist

Paleoconservative

I blame the high (relatively) social score on too many Agrees/Disagrees instead of the Strongly variants.

Bolded=Accurate, Italics=Inaccurate

Defining Values:
Pro-business, pro-environment and many are pro-choice. Sympathetic toward immigrants, but not as understanding toward black Americans and the poor (because opposing reverse racism makes you "less understanding"). Somewhat critical of government. Tolerant on social issues.
Who They Are:
Well-educated (40% have a college degree), affluent (almost four-in-ten earn at least $75,000), young (70% less than age 50), and male (64%). Less religious (only 15% go to church weekly).

Top Priorites for the Next President:
Education (25%)
Health Care (19%)

Top Issues and Concerns in the 2000 Election:
Adding prescription drug benefits to Medicare (91%)
Using payroll taxes for private retirement accounts (84%)
Eliminating the Inheritance Tax (79%)

Analysis:
Affluent and less religious, this group is basically non-partisan with a slight lean toward the Republican Party. New Prosperity Independents are highly satisfied with the things that are going in the country. A majority approves of Bill Clinton, yet tends to be critical of government. One-third consider themselves Internet enthusiasts. Two-thirds favor having third major political party in addition to the Democrats and Republicans.

If there's one thing you hate more than anything else, it’s the status quo. This makes you something of a maverick, and many of your political views might be considered odd by your more conventionally minded neighbors. You certainly don’t tow anyone’s line, and while this can make religious and political conversations a bit awkward, your forthright honesty engenders a certain amount of respect from others. You’re deeply protective of your privacy and extremely wary of too much governmental interference. Your fellow citizens, after all, are a pretty sharp group of people; they don’t need Big Government micro-managing every little detail of their lives.

You got 70 points.
Centrist ho! You're like most people, unable to make up their mind. Or maybe you're like a libertarian whose ideas are all over the map. Anyway, you're the target of most ad campaigns because your votes actually affect the outcome of elections (you attention whore, you). For fun, here are where some other major political figures would score (out of 144): George W. Bush: 94 John Kerry: 58 Ralph Nader: 12 Howard Dean: 34 Colin Powell: 82 Joe Lieberman: 70 John Edwards: 52 Harold Browne: 90 Michael Savage: 108 Me: 104

This is also a sucky test. It called me a "centrist ho" and an "attention whore" and said either I was indecisive or "like a libertarian" with no logical positions. Then it compared me to Joe Lieberman.

Idealist

You scored -9 Force, 9 Institutions, and 3 Ideals!

You believe in using international institutions to advance your ideals, but you are not a huge fan of using military force to do so. In fact, if the world was only populated by people like you, militaries wouldn't need to exist. Unfortunately it isn't, and you will probably be killed at a young age by a sociopath who asks you to step inside his van. If by some chance you should survive, here's my advice to you: Have lots of kids. If you can outbreed everyone else, humanity has a chance.

I scored 17, making me closest to Bill Clinton.

Which political stereotype are you?

Democrat - You believe that there should be a free market which is reigned in by a modest state beaurocracy. You think that capitalism has some good things, but that those it helps should be obliged to help out their fellow man a little. Your historical role model is Franklin Roosevelt.

These were odd tests.

Stein: 72% (21/29 agreed)
Obama: 54% (25/46 agreed)
Goode: 52% (24/46 agreed)
Romney: 44% (17/39 agreed)

You Scored as Minarchist

Minarchists are libertarians who advocate a strictly limited government and usually a more decentralized form of it. Minarchists may vary in the degree to which they think that government should be limited, although the bare bones position is essentially nothing more than police, courts and the military. Minarchists tend to think that some minimum level of government is a necessary evil, or at least an inevitability. The contemporary libertarian movement in America is dominantly minarchist, although it has had a long history of dialogue and debate between minarchist and anarchist libertarians.

Minarchist   100%
Left-libertarian   83%
"Small L" libertarian   50%
Agorist   42%
Geo-libertarian   33%
Neo-libertarian   17%
Libertarian socialist   17%
Paleo-libertarian   17%
Anarcho-capitalist   8%

You are a Peace Patroller, also known as an anti-war liberal or neo-hippie. You believe in putting an end to American imperial conquest, stopping wars that have already been lost, and supporting our troops by bringing them home.

You are a Free Marketeer, also known as a fiscal conservative. You believe in free-market capitalism, tax cuts, and protecting your hard-earned cash from pick-pocketing liberal socialists.

I liked the first one. The options on the conservative one were all horrible (I ended up carving the Koch logo into Mt. Rushmore simply because all the other options were so awful).

Silicon Enclave

-2 traditional, 10 liberties, 4 capitalist, 2 isolationist and 8 populist!

You don't like to be told what to do. In your opinion, the problem with the country is that the government and big business try to control too much -- things they can't control and shouldn't try to. Instead, you'd like to see society run on open-source principles, with free markets, free information and the free exchange of ideas allowed to work their transformative power through human creativity and initiative. Granted, not everyone has the skills and knowledge necessary to reap the full benefits of this freedom. Well, you figure, that's their problem. You'll do fine as long as you surround yourself with folks who are in your techno-literacy league.

Clasical Liberalism

You scored 38 Positive, 71 Negative!

You belive the state should be limited, allowing individuals to pursue their own way of life without expectations from society. You think a free market and choice on how to lead your own life are very important. To you, liberty is the freedom to lead your own life how you want to and work towards your own goals.

You can tell this test is accurate because of how they spell "Clasical".

You're a regular 18th-century Enlightenment figure, at least in your own country.

The Greens 2nd is surprising; guess everything but econ/healthcare there? And the low Anderson percentage is weird - from his website I agree with a lot of what he says.

The Bourgeois Revolutionary.

31% Utilitarian, 19% Nationalist, 73% Liberal and 86% Individualist!

You probably call yourself a libertarian or a classical liberal, or something along those lines.  You believe strongly in limited and constitutional government, individual rights, capitalism, and a peaceful foreign policy.  You would likely have been among the instigators of the American and French revolutions.  You are similar to John Locke, Grover Cleveland, and possibly Ayn Rand if you are extreme enough.
