Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI) "is locked in a close race" with Sheldon Whitehouse (D) in Rhode Island's U.S. Senate election, according to a new Brown University survey. Whitehouse now leads 38% to 37%, with 25% still undecided.

If the Republican nominee is Stephen Laffey (R), Whitehouse wins by 55% to 25%.

So many general election polls, so few for the primary.

And I'd like to see a poll on a three-way general, with Chafee (I), as he is apparently considering forgoing the (R) primary.

Good news but still close. I also want to see some Chafee/Laffey polls.

Wow, that's terrible for an incumbent. Chafee is so screwed, because in Al Gore's best state, he needs more wingnuts to vote for him then against him. BTW, the deadline to run as an Independent has elapsed.

Freepers hate him because his ACU score last year tied with Boxer (12) and Clinton (12) and lost to Feingold (13).

Chafee had a 12 ACU score?

Why thank you!

Seriously, more polling in that area would really be nice.  That primary might decide if the Democrats pick up the Senate or not.

Good point. You think someone would actually poll the thing since it is supposedly close.
