John D Ford was nominated as our candidate to go against the Nym administration in the general elections. He won our votes and our delegates. So what happened? Why were we Republicans let down so badly? I believe Reaganfan whined his way into stealing the delegations votes and is the main reason for the seperation of the GOP. Our party is now split amongst four forum parties. The CP, ANP(joke), SRP and UAC. I wish it had not happened this way. My attempts at starting a SRP (States Rights or Southern Republican Party) were an attempt to rally us Republicans, much like the San Fransisco Republican Convention that Brambila so nicely put together. Once again the SRP was elminated without the founders' (me) vote to disband it. My attempts to defeat NYM are a uphill battle that I now know I will not be able to overcome. Therefore, as Senator of the South east district I remove myself from the Presidential race and am fully throwing my support behind the UAC candidates (Gustaf and Super Soulty). They have endorsed me for my senate re-election and I support them for the presidency/vice presidency. I wish all other minor third party candidates (SteveNick and Reaganfan) the best of luck with their long uphill campaigns. I wish you the best as Republicans. I can no longer stick close to a divider such as reaganfan. I beg all others to drop out of their respective runs for president/vicepresident and throw their support behind Gustaf. If the GOP wishes to have a shot at a longer existence I would beg you to sit this one out and go with Gustaf. After the election we can reform. The States Rights Party still exists and I am still a member. I have no desire to JOIN the UAC although I support them for this campaign. Mr. NixonNow I wish you the best of luck as well and I ask you to throw your support behind Gustaf. PBrunsel you are a excellent historian and I wish you would throw your support behind him as well. The destruction of our party was due in part to Peter Bells' stupid Civil war which ran off a fine man, Dunn. Reaganfan has put his foot on the throat of the GOP with his hostile takeover of the party and forced nomination. I thank everyone on the Atlas for taking the time to read this speech. Please keep the flames down I am no agent of the UAC or member. I feel Gustaf is the best man to defeat Nym. Goodnight.

Good speech, quick question though...what would driving Dunn off have to do with the GOP? Dunn was a Progressive. I agree that the Civil War did seem to split all parties and lead to a bit of a shakeup, but I don't see what Dunn's disappearance had to do with the GOP's dissolution.

I myself would like to see a more united right though. It'll be boring if it's just Dems vs. UAC as the two major parties. A good solid three party system would be very interesting.

Dunn was part of the glue that held this whole thing together. His leaving was part of the disintegration of the 3 party system and allowed the rise of Reaganfan.

BTW, although that is my board name, I do not mean to name it after myself. I am not that much of a egomaniac. I name it after the issue of States Rights and more sovereignty among the respective states.

True, as Dunn was the one who proposed the entire Constitution in the first place...I can see what you mean then.

Hopefully the right can reunite, whether it be under the banner of the Republican party, States Rights party, or whatever. You could probably get back many of your recalcitrant former members who have gone UAC too.

Thats what I am hoping for. I miss the intellectuals such as PBrunsel, John D. Ford, Wild Card and Brambila. They have lost their way from home and I wish to bring them back.

I thiink most of the Republican in the UAC are to scared to go back to a right-wing party. Because it might fall apart, like all of the other ones.

I thought John Ford and StevenNick were tied in the primaries when Ford left.  It seems like StevenNick should have been your candidate, or at least Ford's delegates should have been given a choice about who to vote for.  But StevenNick also dropped out, so who knows.

Reaganfan conned John D. Ford into giving him his delegates. Essentially ReaganTroll hijacked the GOP.

No. I was his biggest fan. He gave his delegates to me. Infact, had StevenNick not dropped out that night with the second primaries, I would have given all my delegates to him.

I thank Senator StatesRights for his support, I deeply appreciate it. Smiley

A more formal speech will probably be made later when I have the time...

If we lose, StatesRights, make room for me in the State's Rights (Southern Republican) Party.

I would like to clarify a few things about Reaganfan's nomination.  The race began with a crowded field.  As candidates dropped out, the race was winnowed down to me and John D. Ford.  In the first three regional primaries, John Ford and I tied.  Both of us ended up with 150 delegates.  John D. Ford then left the republican party for the UAC.  His departure contributed to the growing number of republicans leaving for the UAC.

Upon departing, John D. Ford gave his delegates to Reaganfan.  I can't speak to Ford's motivation for making this decision, but I was under the impression that the reason he did so was because Reaganfan had previously dropped out of the race and endorsed John D. Ford.  John D. Ford was simply returning the favor.  Unfortunately, many republicans left with John D. Ford.  Some thought I was too conservative, some wanted to follow John D. Ford, others just wanted to try something different and found that in the UAC.

By the time the next two regional primaries came around, a large number of the responsible and sensible members of the party had either left or already voted in other primaries.  When it became clear that the only thing I would inherit with the nomination was a fractured party of losers and trolls, I lost all desire for the nomination.  That's when I dropped out of the race.

However, the voting that had started in the two remaining regions was never completed.  The polls were closed prematurely.  Reaganfan never won a primary.   Technically speaking, Reaganfan was not and is not the nominee of the republican party.  The delegates from the last two primaries were never awarded.  The convention was never held.

There is no republican nominee.

After I dropped out, realizing that the party had been taken over, I did my best to kill it.  I turned the chairmanship over to Josh and became an independent.  Others continued to leave the party.  One of the motivations behind my current presidential bid is to ensure that the Reaganfan wing of the party gets thoroughly routed in the upcoming election.

Of course, there is nothing stopping us from reforming the republican party, holding a convention, and legitimately nominating a candidate who isn't a troll.
