Switzerland:

and Sweden:

Socialist hellhole that's turning into Eurabia.

By this data, some figures Sweden compares more favorably with Switzerland:

Revenues/Expenditure: Sweden $210.5 / $205.9bn; Switzerland $138.1bn / $143.6bn

Public Debt: Sweden 50.3% of GDP / Switzerland 53.3% of GDP

GDP-Growth: Sweden 2.7% / Switzerland 1.8%

Of course, your remarks re Sweden are as crass as they come. Still, give me Sweden before your Somalia utopia

One of the best countries in the world not only for its favourable economic policies but also because it is one of the most beautiful nations I have ever visited.

I don't know why Bono hates Sweden so much. They implemented a socialism that works which isn't that bad of a scenario. The problem is that it really can only work in Nordic countries and to implement it in other countries, namely the United States, would bring about complete failure.

I'm not sure the Swedish model would even work in the UK

Probably not since I've always considered the British and Americans to have more in common than they like to admit. Wink

Anything that works in any industrialized first world nation can work in all of them.

So, say, things like population, number of immigrants/poor minorities, and similar socio-economic factors have no bearing what so ever?

No reason they should except for population but that's not an issue if the per capita income is similar.

No. Absolutely not. That would be akin to saying that culture, economics, idustrial activity, mores, ethics, and politics were the same in Sweden as they are in the United States which is of course not the case. Whether a project or a type of system works is totally dependent upon factors independent of GDP per capita and being in the "first world".

How is this a good thing? Switzerland has lower revenues becuase it has way lower taxes.
