Massive Freedom Fighter. I disagree with most of his views, but still, forcing LBJ out of the race was the right thing to do, unless the Democrats had a desire to lose all fifty states in November 1968.

A great man. He stood on strong moral principles for what he believed in, and although he was more liberal than I'd like, he was a very good Senator.

A nice enough guy I'm sure, but he still destroyed the Democratic Party (for which he did show some remorse for in later life).

I didn't say that.

I do think that what McCarthy did in 1968 had a major role in the collapse of the Democratic Party that year.
