Kinky, and I have a good feeling. I'm not even going to bother arguing with the thick headed pseduo-realists who are so confident in Perry.
Given your contempt for Strayhorn, you might not like this next part...if Strayhorn implodes, just where do you think her voters are going to go, Vlad? And will that make Perry stronger or weaker?

Oh, and I see the classic Internet forum left-libertarian bias is fully in effect Wink

Well, Strayhorn has already imploded in my mind(she has gone from within 9 points of Perry to last place in the polls) and as a result Kinky has done nothing but close the gap with Perry. I think Strayhorn has about as many independent supporters as she does Republican supporters. The problem for Perry is that the "Strayhorn Republicans" aren't budging, while her independent base is going over to support the black horse campaign of Kinky Friedman. While this isn't weakening Perry, it's giving Kinky a strong boost...perhaps strong enough.

Statistical tie with Kinky and Bell, bub. Wink Not quite an implosion Tongue
Last poll I saw had her 2 points behind Kinky and 1 behind Bell...regardless of how close this is, it still puts her in last place, bub.

I think you and most others are being a little thick headed on the matter, to be 100% honest. This however is not abnormal given the nature of this race.

Here are the latest funding numbers (through 1st half of 2006).

Perry $4.6 million new, $10.0M on hand.
Strayhorn $3.1M new, $8.1M on hand.
Bell $1.6M new, $0.7M on hand.
Friedman $1.6M new, $0.5M on hand.

You know, if their were a single, centrist, transgendered porn star named Kinky Carole Bell, that person would likely win 60% of the vote.

Yep, I'm sure that type of candidate would fare really well in Texas  Tongue

And I think you are letting your enthusiasm for Kinky run away with you, to be 100% honest. I actually expect Perry to win this race, albeit not by very inspiring margins. C'mon, this is Texas - do you really think someone with liberal social positions is going to win here?

Interesting announcement today of an endorsement of Perry by the mayors of Mission, McAllen, Harlingen, Hidalgo, Donna, Pharr, Palmhurst, Rio Grande City, Progreso, Edcouch, La Villa, and Elsa all in the valley.

Also Carole "none" X lost her law suit, and her lawyer announced he would appeal.    Later Carole "none" X, told him not to appeal, saying that it was becoming a distraction and she would run as Carole Keeton Strayhorn.

In My Opinion

Also, IMHO

In My Humble Opinion

Also, IMNSHO

In My Not So Humble Opinion

When I first came across IMHO it didn't make any sense, since it was used in contexts where it was obviously the writer's opinion, ("Ben Hur is the greatest movie ever, IMHO").  So I figured out it that it was a euphemism for "asshole".   I thought it was pretty weird that people would make a fairly calm statement, and then call the person they were corresponding with an asshole.
