My first vote was for Jerry Brown in the 1992 Democratic Presidential Primaries when I was 18. What was yours?

My first votes were for L. Scott Harshbarger for governor, and Michael Capuano for Congress, in the 1998 midterm.

My first vote was for governor and other state offices in 1991. I do believe I voted straight ticket Democratic.
I was still in high school when I became old enough to vote. (Like Bart Simpson, I was an underachiever and proud of it.)
I've been told that 17-year-olds are allowed to vote in primaries in Kentucky if they will turn 18 before the general election, but this may just be an urban legend.

1976 (Carter v. Ford, etc.) It was particularly interesting since I was studying the 1976 election in a college course at the same time.

That's the rule in MD, so I don't see why it couldn't be true in KY.

My frst vote will be the 2006 Victorian State election. If it were held today and I could vote, I'd vote Laor, but only because of our local member. In state politics I would just as happily vote Liberal if I believe the candidate is better, but I doubt any candidate will be better then our current member. It's possible, but unikely.
My first federal election could theoretically come before that, and if it does I will vote for Labor. In federal politics, the Liberals are almost completely out of considerartion, unless they were running Costello and Labor were running some hardline NSW ALP rightwinger like Brereton.
Carey will know what I'm talkin' about

I don't remember much about my first voting experience in 1982, but I do remember voting for Mondale and for Jim Hunt for Senator of NC in 1984. Mondale of course was soundly defeated as expected, but Hunt was favored to defeat incumbent Jesse Helms and his loss was most disappointing. I had more faith in the people of NC than that. sigh.

I had the distinct pleasure of casting my first vote in the fall of 1984 at age 18. First ballot ever cast...Ronald Wilson Reagan.
