I think this could turn out be a very interesting race (if it is not already).  I won't claim foresight but for a while I suspected that Rainville's candidacy sounded like a serious run and that she would be in with a shot or at least would not be clobbered by Welch.  Vermont is enough of a contrarian state to be perhaps the only Congressional District which changes hands from Democrat to Republican.  I know this is only one poll and then Rainville's lead is hardly strong, but it certainly has the potential to turn out like that.

Peter welch is an Unknown.  As a State wide election I would have to say he is still favored. I thing Vermont is too liberal to send a republican to congress. Plus, Rainville is very well liked.
