Interesting that Wallace did quite well in mining/logging areas in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Another interesting fact about Wallace, however, is that about 40 percent of his total votes nationwide came from New York City alone; that's pretty amazing when you think about it. Even though it was Dewey's home state, I think it's safe to say that Wallace cost Truman New York.

It's also interesting that he didn't do any better than he did in Idaho with Glen Taylor as his running mate.

Great job! A Paul '88 map would be great.

I'd also like to see some for Norman Thomas for the years in which he got a large vote.

One of these days, i'll photocopy the 1920 county returns for Missouri from the 1921-1922 manual.

First so they can be go to Dave.
Second, so we can get some Debs results on that map.

Now.. if I had a scanner, then the whole process would be easier.

Since the Wisconsin Blue Books are largely online.. I entered the 1972 Democratic primary results on OC and here they are: http://www.ourcampaigns.com/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=36025

Bump!

Some stuff from the '30's soon, maybe. And various spin-off projects, perhaps.

Not in the style of these maps though because these show only one candidate per map.

McKinley (preferably in '96) would be interesting if you have the data. IMO, 1896 was the only election really fought on class lines.

I'll look into it. Will be able to make something for sure.

Hardly. A very interesting election for so many reasons, but if you want *class* you want post-1936 FDR, Truman, HHH or Mondale (never so much in the South obviously, but that's a special case).

It's kind of, uh, the main attraction of the site.

That is not a map of how well Obama does relative to other counties like the other maps posted here. I am not asking for a map split up into McCain and Obama counties like the conventional ones, I am asking for a map for just Obama and a map for just McCain like the maps posted on here.
I am asking for a map like this:

For each state there's buttons for "Democrat" and "Republican" that show exactly that.

Thanks, but I am curious what it would look like you put all the states together so you can see the whole country as a whole.

Better to wait until the results are all official; these things can take a while.

I've been working on one...there are a lot of states that are not on the atlas, so it is taking longer than some others.
