Quote from Larry Hagman: "[Bush is a] sad figure: not too well educated, who doesn't get out of America much. He's leading the country towards fascism."

"It's all the same to me, he wouldn't understand the word fascism anyway."

If the candidates agree- meaning if the Republican is against it. If they agreee pretty much, it will be mentioned but not with any depth.

I think it always going to have a major impact on Congressional races, but in Presidential races, its effect is small.  Smith and Collins supported stem cell research so that issue is taken off the table for the Democratic challengers in those states. That's why it will be hard to take them down. But Coleman and Sununu and Allard, stem cell research is going to have a major impact in these races.

No -I doubt anything will drown out the Iraq War if our servicemen and women are still fighting and dying over there, and conditions in Iraq have still not appreciably improved from where they are now.

I think stem cells have run their course as far as being a major issue.  The Middle East, energy, and immigration will be the issues of 2008.

Stem cell research will likely be a second-tier issue.  The likely top-tier issues will be:

War in Iraq/Afghanastan
War against terrorism
Health care reform
Illegal immigration
Economic policies including deficit management
