128/748: NL 56.3, JL 43.6

Most precincts in so far have been in areas that (according to the pundits) were likely to favour Lamont.

Tradesports has Lamont up in the mid-90s.  This mirrors the Kilgore v. Kaine race election night.  Not looking good for Joe.

56/44 to Lamont now. Most of Bridgeport is in, but it's still tight.

Can someone explain to me why, to paraphrase DailyKos, conventional wisdom says that Lieberman will do best in urban areas?

Polls have generally shown Lieberman doing better with low income voters; in CT urban precincts tend to be working class.

54/46 to Lamont; the gap has been slowly shrinking for a while now.

Lamont is currently leading in New Haven, but only 11/45 have reported there yet.

So are most CT whites at this point, especially Democratic primary voters. Hell, Lieberman is about the only non-anti-war CT Democrat at this point.

I suspect that lower income voters are more turned off by the wealth limousine liberal image portrayed of Lamont. Lieberman has more blue collar appeal, it makes sense.

Lieberman spent $10 million on this primary (more than double what Lamont spent).

Which site are you on, Al?

That's dissappointing-New Haven is Joe's backyard.

Lieberman has narrowly carried New Britain, but Lamont has narrowly carried New London.

38% reporting

53.6% for Lamont

The AP calling this would be a mistake.

Lamont still leads by 7,000 votes though, not too bad of a lead.

However, nothing from Stamford yet--I'm guessing that's Lamont country?

So far Lamont's best town is Cornwall (over 90%), while Lieberman's best is East Haven (65%).
