Sounds like Lieberman is getting desperate. No sane Lamont supporter would want to hack Lieberman's website, the more people see of Lieberman, the less likely they are to vote for him. We are for a free exchange of ideas and issues, and then voting the Republican enabler out of office.

Currenly, it resolves to "suspended page":
http://server1.myhostcamp.com/suspended.page/

Before it said

Maybe Lieberman is so strong on national security that he forgot to pay his hosting bill.

He's not trying to claim it; he is claiming it.

As was seen in both parties, some supporters go too far; this does not mean that Lamont or his campaign is involved.

Well, who suspended his account?

It's not like people need to go to his website to get Lieberman propaganda anyways.

I think Lieberman is hoping desperately for the sympathy vote.

The reasonable expectation is that Lieberman forgot to pay for enough bandwidth, perhaps he wasn't aware of how popular that his running mate's Internet is. Lieberman was too busy enabling the guy who ignored the memo titled "Bin Laden determined to strike in US" to pay attention to details like this. Remind me how Lieberman is strong on national security again....

I agree, this is pretty funny, but I expect a lot of comedy goldmine moments today with the primary.

Supposedly his ISP is agreeing that is was a DOS attack, but this hasn't been confirmed.  OK, here's another possibility. Perhaps Lieberman did pay his bill, but he's got a sh**tty ISP that didn't withstand election day traffic from one of the biggest races ever, and his ISP thought this heavy traffic was a DOS attack.  Of course, there is a chance that it's some random script kiddie.

Are you implying that Lamont is an ultra-left wing nutcase? Isn't this the Lamont that Lieberman said votes with Republicans 80% of the time?

The so called media is running wild with their blame of left wing bloggers. Sounds like the so called media is worried that their pal Lieberman might lose.

What a bunch of clowns. Have they never heard of the "Slashdot effect"? This country is in such sh**tty shape exactly because people like Chris Matthews have a huge amount of power over public opinion.

His site has been down around 18 hours. If he wanted, I'm sure he could have gotten it up again.

It's still down, either Lieberman's campaign is completely incompetant, or they could have gotten it back up hours ago, and instead are milking this for every last drop of sympathy/blame the liberal Lamont bloggers that they can. Either way, Liberman is an asshole.

ONLY 80% of the time. That ultra-left wing nutcase is so deviant he's got no business being allowed to breathe.

JFern seems to forget the fact that this type of event is reportable to the election commission and will be investigated.  People (no matter which side is at fault) is caught in this event for either hacking the site or making it look like it was hacked can face criminal charges.

Lieberman would beat Schlesinger even from prison, so he wouldn't have to care about that. Tongue

from DailyKos:

They are paying $15/month for hosting at a place called MyHostCamp, with a bandwidth limit of 10GB. MyHostCamp is currently down, along with all their clients.

Here's the deal -- you get what you pay for. My hosting bill is now over $7K per month. A smaller site doesn't need that much bandwidth, but if you're paying $15 because your $12 million campaign is too freakin' cheap to pay for quality hosting, then don't go blaming your opponent when your sh**tty service goes out.

For their part, the Lamont campaign has offered its technical expertise to get Lieberman's site back up (which could be done in an hour by a competent sysadmin), and has added a link to the googlecached version of Lieberman's site at the top of their blog.

One side is acting mature, the other is running around making baseless accusations.

Update: Dan Gerstein, Lieberman spokesperson, admits they have no evidence Lamont's campaign or his supporters are behind their website woes.

I'm telling you, it's down because they were too cheap to pay for quality hosting. That's a lesson to all of you campaigns skimping on hosting. $15 won't cut it.

Update II: Joe's site shares one server with 73 other sites. They pay $15/month for an overcrowded server, and then they blame others when it goes down? Full list of sites on Joe's server on the flip.

List is here: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/8/8/153827/3493

The funny thing is, Joe's site called www.meetned.com is running on the same server and it's up. Joe's internet consultant said he was spending 99% of his time talking to reporters, instead of fixing their low budget site.

I just noticed what's wrong with this statement.
Lieberman isn't making it look like it was hacked, he's just unbasedly claiming it looks like it was hacked. There's a difference.

That "Meet Ned" website has a typo on the front page.  He can't get his main website up and his attack Ned website hasn't even been looked over for grammatical errors.  And he's spending $15 a month on the hosting for these sites.  Talk about running a great campaign.

Maybe he could work on, you know, putting the actual website back up instead of accusing Ned Lamont's supporters of not paying for an adequate hosting service?
