Although, in principle , a minimum wage of $7.20 is a rate I would most wholeheartedly support for the District of Columbia and the federal territories (and, indeed, all regions for that matter), given the reasons cited by Ernest, I have reservations as to its practicality

Therefore, the only option I have is to abstain on this Bill

As much as I would love to support this, Ernest has a point about how practical it is. Perhaps a rewrite is in order? Abstain.

This is the second bill that the Senate is beginning to reject because of a post by Ernest, yet no one offered any amendments.

You can't really expect me to cooperate with you people, can you?

Of course not because you don't want to. You're useless now.

No, what's useless is that you still have about six thousand free trade bills remaining in the queue.

OK, you can bring that up in the subsequent debates when making your case for free trade with Benin.

Whilest I would support this for DC, I will not for the federal territories at large. Setting the same level of minimum wage in DC and the outlying territories is not good economic sense in the circumstances. Whilst I consider myself pro-minimum wage in principle, the particulars of this bill force me to vote Nay.

I change my vote to Nay.

So it's 2-3-4.
