Paul Tsongas, but since he's dead, I'll go Gore or Edwards.

Ideal candidate: Glenallen Walken from The West Wing, with Arnie Vinick as his VP.  Wink

Mark Warner -Evan Bayh is a close second place, and would be ideal as Mark Warner's VP nominee.

Some combination of Russ Feingold and Byron Dorgan's economic populism, with Al Gore and Brian Schweitzer's vision, Bill Clinton's charisma, and Mark Warner's executive skills.

On the GOP side, for 2016, look out for Gov. Phill Kline (KS), Gov. Ralph Reed (GA), Gov. JD Hayworth (AZ), Sen. David Vitter (LA), among others.
