Nope.  Just a bunch of nutjob whities.

I remember talking to a guy once who would have whole-heartedly supported McVeigh's actions, if the bomb hadn't also destroyed a creche with children in it.

It definitely was not earmarked by Al-Qaeda.  It was pure domestic terrorism concocted by a few low-lifes.  It was fueled by the Branch-Dividian Complex Destruction in Waco, Texas on April 19, 1993.

The reason I know for a fact it was not AL-Qaeda is Al-Qaeda is Islamic extremism.  Timothy McVeigh and his accomplices was acting in the name of Christian extremism.  I strongly condemn both extremisms.

no, it was anti-government extremism, not Christian extremism. There was no religious motivation, and McVeigh was an agnostic.

The only possibility of a connection would lie through the CIA/GOP/DOD.

No, which is what makes terrorism all the more dangerous; it can come from anyone of any ethnicity and isn't confined only to those from the Middle East.

I told you to make it political. Cheesy

Although a more sensible poll - one that would actually show something worthwhile - would have been "have you been brainwashed into believing the first WTC bombing was committed by Al-Qaeda?"

I know it wasn't perpetrated by Al-Qaeda, but one has to think that they were rejoicing over in the Al-Qaeda camps and may have been emboldened to start planning 9/11.

I've seen no evidence and found the connection to Turner Diaries to be supportive.

I initially considered that 9-11 might have been a White supremacist attack while it was happening.

I actually said to a relative, while calling to tell her that I was okay, "The last guy who did this was whiter than you."

Didn't the media initially blame OK City on Arabs too? I seem to recall seeing a headline with "In the name of Allah" or something...

Oh yes, certainly.

No, since that was way later. The choice of target though was probably inspired by the first WTC bombing - and the trial of only indirectly related people afterwards, which was widely seen as scandalous among Muslims (and not just those inclined to violence).

No, but it was connected to Iraq.

No seriously, McVeigh was a Gulf War veteran and therefore there is a connection, meaning Bush was fully justified to go to war with Iraq in 2003.

Anyone who seriously believes there is a connection is either an unbelievable conspiracy theorist or else they're just plain retarded.  Probably both.

I wouldn't mind seeing your rationale for 'leaning yes'.  Also, I would never have figured you as a conspiracy theorist.

Al Qaeda was of course responsible for Oklahoma City... same with the Kennedy assassination and the explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger (you didn't think that this really was an accident?). Wink

Why would Al Qaeda teaching if not possibly funding some nutty ass white supremacists be considered a "conspiracy"? Their may have been a third bomber who was never caught and its' been discussed that McVeigh may have travelled overseas to majority Islam nations.

Without any actual proof of that, I'm still going to label it a nutty conspiracy theory in the vein of "Bush planned 9/11".  I've bolded some words in your post to emphasize what I mean.

The media initally thought Arabs had committed the attack because Islamic Jihad publicly claimed credit for the attack.
