While some states (like NJ) nominated the best challenger, others (FL) did not. What states could have been vulnerable w/the right candidate? Here's my opinion, feedback appreciated
AZ: Gov. Napolitano would have been much better
CA: Finestein was pretty much guaranteed to win
CT: Jodi Rell possibly w/the Dems splitting between Lamont and Lieberman
DE: Pretty unbeatable, possibly Rep. Castle
FL: Long list basically w/everyone but Katherine Harris
HI: Maybe Gov. Lingle or Lt. Gov. Aiona
IN: Lugar was unbeatable considering Evan Bayh is already in the Senate
ME: Snowe was pretty unbeatable
MD: Probably nominated the best person
MA: No one, absolutley no one
MI: No one comes to mind
MN: Maybe Gov. Pawlenty would have been better
MS: Mike Moore could have made it a race
MO: Probably the best
MT: The best
NE: Johanns would have killed him
NV: Didn't real have a good candidate
NJ: Absolute best w/the exception of his father
NM: Unbeatable
NY: Guilliani is the only one, and he wasn't even considered
ND: Hoevan would've beaten him
OH: Strickland was probably better
PA: Probably the best
RI: Don't know much about RI
TN: Probably the best
TX: Sacrifical lamb was anyone
UT: Hatch was unstoppable in UT
VT: Maybe only Douglas would be better
VA: Webb is a good candidate
WA: Best candidate
WV: Capito Moore had a shot
WI: Tommy Thompson
WY: Thomas was unbeatable
That's all the races, anyone else?
